The new thing in RB3 is the scoring system. Apart from dolls, there are also buttons and time that give you the overall score. See post #185 where I explain the scoring system. There are no new things to figure out to get higher score. However, there are rooms where a lower doll count give a higher score (see earlier posts about that).

For each level, we should also list the number of buttons to get the lowest score. After getting all the buttons, using the specified number of dolls, it is just a matter of being fast! There are no 60-hour levels (like Dominotor in RB2) in RB3!

But what new feature can save milliseconds of the best time? I wasn't askinghow to get Better score (I'm 4th on patchwork) I was giving a hint to those who already have the best scores nearly but can't quite catch us on the leader boards. One small thing can improve the time massively !!

    Scores

Yeah I agree. When we do add the best scores to the front page think it would be great with (highest number of buttons that got this score) as in still certain 1-2 can be done with all buttons ! But no one believe me lol. As I'm also sure Plankies is a one doll level !

    Doll count

To keep the doll count list up to date:
I spent 45 dolls in Candy Mountain (HD version), hitting the target by one in Filler Up and Hammer Time. But it seems I have to spend some more dolls to get more points - math juggling ON...

    26?

I got 26 on patch and I'm 2k off the leaders. Sure I've got some tweaking to do, but methinks there is at least one more doll. So tell me fellas is it reset, because sometimes I musn't reset anym:mad:re.

No new dolls for me. Just a lot of tweaking.

I still have 26 dolls with a lot of tweaking. 2k points is 20 buttons, 20-30 time units, or most likely a combination of the two.

Please tell me it's got nothing to do with the device and it's internal clock. That would really be a turn-off. Other than resetting the level just before your first shot (duh) I can't think of anything. Please enlighten us.

Oh wait! I got it: some of the outfits you can buy in the store make the doll fly faster :D

Not faster but taller so size wise it's an extra advantage. Fair few levels you can get an edge

    My feeling is different.

Hi, I am Papp, I am new to the dolls. I do quite like the game. Today I was home all day and made a few good scores in PM. Most are entirely fun levels. Didn't like Plankies too much, stuck at 12916 after hours of trying.

But I don't really like the last two worlds, particularly the magnetism stuff so far. These are all so complicated, well thought out maybe but still a bit over engineered. Maybe I get the knack of it later! I am still a noob.

Just for a change, I tried RB1, the free version. What a great great game. Great in the sense of really great. Virtually no graphics, the simplest game idea ever and yet gazillions of possibilities. And no time factor. I sort of hate the time component. I mean chasing for hundredths of seconds is not really fun for me. I am fine with timing levels but it is a chore to reset each and every time before doing a level, in particular if the buttons are not too responsive.

One good thing is there are two separate leaderboards for HD and non-HD. I know somebody got 12882 in 1-20. I am stuck with 12566 and see no way to improve this. The person explained it to me and it is def not possible on the iPhone because of different screen layout. Wonder if the HD version on the phone would make it possible. I don't have an iPad.

OK we'll see if the game is gonna fascinate me for some time. I am happy to see there is a great community here. Looks like it may be as good as the Cat Physics troop where my roots are.

    Happy blasting
    Papp

Hi Papp and welcome to the world of Ragdolls! :)

There is definitely a difference between the LD and the HD version and level 1-20 seems to be one of the levels that differ. However, you can get higher scores than the ones you mention for both LD and HD.

Lunar will separate the boys from the men in time...I'll just say that. It's gonna take a lot longer than the other books before we have a clear idea on the point ceiling. I still cant finish one of the levels lol.... And yah, I'm probably delirious at this point

Edit: Sweet, I feel better... 4th place on Lunar and only 19/20 levels done. Moving Walkway &$##%%!!!

Yes - math juggler is me. I was just Bob Murphy in the ragdoll 2 leaderboard, but that name was taken in Game Center (or whatever I had to log in to for the leaderboard).

I didn't know either of those were 1's. I'll have to rethink the rooms.
