    3-3 vs 1--2345-6

Interestingly enough, I tried the 3-3 method on the iPad and can get it about 8/10 times, yet can't get it on my 3G, not 3GS iPhone. Only the 1--2345-6 method seems to work on it due to severe lag, dang the slow processor! This game is going to be how I justify my new iPhone 4 purchase, laggy and no zoom, both of which effect my close cut shaves!!!

And now the sad part, while this tip of the 3-3 method kicks on the iPad, my friend who was so gracious to loan his to me for the last 3 days has taken it back so he can play RB2, and alas I was not able to form the perfect ramp in the 30 minutes or so that I had with the iPad after reading this tip! :(

I totally agree! It is so strange how the players are ordered! It is not the first one, it is not alphabetical, is it not the one with highest total score, ... I have not found any pattern yet.

    Score Order --

I am pretty sure the order is "random" based on physical storage order within whatever RDBMS (probably MySQL or SQL Server) . As a rule of thumb, unless explicitly specified, a RDBMS will return results in whatever order it deems fastest. In this case, its a good bet that Plus+ has designed a DB with an index on the score -- and when it shows, it says basically, "grab 25 results with the lowest score, and sort in lowest score descending order" ..

Soooo -- The RDBMS says "Ok -- I have an index on score, lets use that for find the 25 ... it grabs them and sorts them. But since no OTHER sort criteria was mentioned, its going to arrange them in whatever "random" order they appeared in the index -- which really does mean random since indexes can use one of many ways to store themselves on disk (B-TREE, C-TREE, Balanced Node, etc) ..

THe "easy" solution would be (if they aren't already) making sure the last updated date/time (timestamp) is in the DB as well .. and then have a secondary sort

SORT BY SCORE DESCENDING, LAST_DATE_TIME ASCENDING

So the first one with the lowest score at that level would be rightly "first" to show ..

    WD (Revised)

Thanks for the feedback (all) -- I have edited the original post (so its still "definitive I think) to add the optional / alternative 123-123 sequence"

    Doll on!

    Cannon Lag

A few things I've tried that seem to make a difference in the lagginess:
    1. Reboot
    2. Close and reopen the game until a faster performer arrives (I don't mean me Ha!)
    3. Let the game sit a few, (almost like it has to warm up??)

But some of the levels (the wheels, stalk. some head thru wall shots) seem to be cumulative (game's internal counter??). Eventually after taking the same shot at the same spot xxxx's of times... it goes in, thru, down, whatever.. OR I dunno, maybe it's just my own laggy thumb at times! Ha!
I'm a thumber by the way, index finger on precision aim shots... small hands/fingers are definitely useful on phone dollin. Which partially explains X's success with his village of children, it's not just about numbers! Ha!
    Doll on!

Nice work Steve! A huge milestone for sure. Well so much for thinking I'd be able to put this down for awhile after joining the 240's club while it existed!!!

    Too Bad

That's a bummer, I was all ready to take you up on #2 Foxy since you clearly kick a** at this!

After last night and a 6 hour marathon on Jail Guard, it still hasn't dropped and quite frankly at this point I'm afraid of it doing so... I would probably get so excited, I'd end up throwing my phone as I was flailing my little rhyno arms about and break the darn thing before it registered with plus+!

    Cheers!

That's what I have been saying on RB1!

The person who got there first sould stay there!

The second to get there should stay there....second.

That's how scoreboards usually work ...

    Please take note Plus+

    :)

X will regain his rightful if not before, when the upgrade comes out and the V rooms are added -- but for now -- I'm happy. :)

Congratulations. I think you'll keep the lead for a while. Phantom is so sick and tired of trying for Big Dipper in 1 he'll have to find another doll somewhere else or the update will take care of it for him. How much of an edge does he have on you in Veridian?

Did anyone notice that in Remote Control the target leaves to the right and never comes back? Even if you flip the switch it won't ever come back. So why doesn't the reset button turn red. I was hoping it would eventually show up on the other side. I gave it 12 hours. I also noticed that on Interceptor, not only did they fix it so the reset button turns red but the dolls don't seem to crawl anymore.

    Actually SJ, get real!

You and you alone are the deserved new RB2, No1 spot owner, not x!

    x may own RB1, but not RB2 !

You have hit the sub 240 club first, so YOU own the 230's club!

    Cheers
