One Post?! That's all we got so far for the new year, two if you include this one. I finally got ice blocked, Yay! I am less than enthusiastic about my remaining shaves. I think tomorrow is two months since the last update and the last update was just a few minor tweeks and no new levels. backflip are you out there? I'm a patient dolla and I realize it takes time and talent and money to put out new content but Throw us a line a teaser an estimate something to keep us going. Thank you
4c1!!!!! Bill - you got company now. X - awfully quiet. That means he is working on something. Wonder if it is the same thing I'm working on... Frizz - congrats on IB Foxy - is that a GD2 rant or a GD1 rant?
4C wtg! Wow congrats!! **damn, secretly hoping to get it next** I've had some close calls lately so it "feels" imminent. >shrug< ....Hey big cheers for you! Yeah that's GD2.. but my latent fear is that one of my dolls will go in the tube without touching the other, effectively making it a theoretical 1. *gag* Edit: Oh who am I kidding? Sometimes I'm trying for the 1.
Congratulations iDoc! Did it happen the same way? It's a great feeling when it happens after all those tries. Did you take a screencap along the way? I'd like to compare the positions of the 2nd and 3rd block.
I didn't take screencaps because I was too worried I'd screw it up! I used the head through the stick method. The doll fell directly on the ice. It landed in the arms and legs down but shoulder up pose. Its toes got hung up at the seam for five minutes, but then kept going. The third piston was lower than the second. The doll just cleared the third piston. Took me about 100-120 resets.
Hello everyone Just wanted to thank all you dollers here for your expert advice and tips. I finally made it to the 380's! Still a long way to go, but have only had ipad since November. Some of these scores seem impossible, but obviously after hours of dedication...you prove it possible! Thanks again for the help!
4C1- lookin good Yay! I have a 4C doll that just exited from under piston 3! Unless he dies now (noooo!) it's soon to be. But I have to leave, so either miss the glory or sleep it till later. Hmmm 3 rivets to go. WTG Myoung! EDIT: Done! Better late for an appointment than miss it!
You probably have it by now. It's weird they don't give you an award for getting a one on it. There's something about the feeling I got completing 4C that was so incredible. Part of it was not knowing for sure if it could be done. Then there were all the times that looked good and the doll died. Ice Blocked was similar but there was much less waiting between resets with it. That's a risky screencap Foxy!
Big grats! Foxy! woot! That's a great screen cap, not as risky as it used to be though. After much dismay at reset shaves from RB1 your shave registers as soon as it brrrings. I know this cause I was in shoot reset shoot etc. mode when I got springboards, and well.... I got it. Other grats go to Bill for proving it could be done and the silver medal goes out to iDoc. I hope I'm next
Surprise sums it up Thanks. Have to say I'm really surprised it went and expected to try for more days (weeks?). And the wait wasn't bad.. less than 3 hours. I ALMOST reset it because the pistons were not as even as I thought they should be. I zoomed in close to check clearance when the doll approached piston 2. Was very surprised to come back and see dolly halfway thru piston (cylinder) 3 and exiting the screen. I turned off the pad, turned back on, exited zoom at homescreen, then switched back to the game. I didn't dare exit zoom while the game was onscreen. I've had too many misfires that way. Whew, that is one gratifying shave. Yeah thanks for the pioneering and sharing, Bill! Really glad you got the glory first, this time around. The last few shaves I've had didn't register on Plus right away so had to log out and in.
Nice Foxy! My doll and piston positions were exactly the same. Very brave to zoom and screen cap! Not so bad after seeing Bill do it and reseting other doll positions.
Cool! Way to go! Hmmm, me thinks Bridge Mix a likely candidate. EDIT: Bigger They Are? >shrug< I can't believe Gearhouse, Mega Ramp or Stack Order are shavable.
I still haven't done it. I had to go to sleep so I paused it for the night. It's still on the LD version. Gonna try in a few hours. Thanks Foxy.
Bridge Mix It is Bridge Mix. It is a two. The scary thing is that it is possible in low def RB2 as well (albeit much harder). I'm happy to post the strategy if you all want, but don't want to spoil the fun for those who want to figure it out on their own. Hint: It is somewhat like a combination of ROF and BD.
Go ahead Spoil it! I have no more patience for mystery and failed strategy attempts. Oh and congratulations of course!
Spoiler Alert - Bridge Mix Strategy If you don't want to know, don't read this. I've just received numerous PMs, so I thought it easier to post it on the open forum. First shot is down and left (a little above the corner of the screen). The doll has to trickle over the block so that it falls fairly vertically and breaks the vine below. That vine is very weak, so it breaks with a falling doll most of the time as long as the falling doll hits near the center of the vine. The vine will break in half and the right half will cover the gap between blocks above the target. I found about one in three dolls that fall over the block with a fairly vertical fall do break the vine below. This shot does happen in low def, but I found it is like 1 in 20 or 30. Next, the cannon has to break through the next few vines. Sometimes, you are lucky and the cannon will hit the fake cannon and bounce left, exposing the target. The second shot has to go through the gap between the blocks above the target. The key is the speed of the doll. It has to hit the vine that dropped previously, and then ricochet right to hit the target. If the doll is going too fast, it'll blow through the fallen vine and won't ricochet back right. It the doll is going too slow, it won't push the vine out of the way. It almost has to push the vine away, get wedged between the vine and the block, and then fall right. So you need the proper falling doll in step one and step two (kind of like BD). Most times, the second shot to the target is off screen (like ROF). Crawling dolls over the target never fall right because the thickness of the block always pushes the doll left. My money shot took only a few seconds to hit the target. I've seen a doll in practice take as long as ten seconds to fall after getting trapped between the vine and the block. I wouldn't wait any longer before resetting. Good luck! Let's see who gets BM2 next!
