Instant buy for me tonight roll on midnight in the UK as I've been waiting for this since hearing about it coming to IOS 18 months ago ##
one that from the first to the second level goes from jus' the right difficulty to deleting it from your device if the Vita version's anything to go by. want an abstract endless runner, dl Smash Hit instead
Amen! I've got an itchy purchase finger waiting to tap that buy button. Come on 11pm est the wait is making me lose hair! Billy
Here's some video of me playing on my iPad Air 2 if anyone wants to see what it looks like. I did much better when I wasn't recording. I think the pressure made me nervous. Also, I don't play too many endless runners. Anyway, the controls seem pretty solid to me. I'm glad it's tap, not tilt. It won't play on my old iPhone 5, but I think the controls would probably feel even better on a small screen. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
I lost my interest in these kind, or even more complex racing/dodging/endless games ages ago (ios speaking). Recent games like AG Drive, Kayos, Impulse had no chance to land on my table. But...the first pictures and specially the first video a few weeks ago made me very curious about this simple, yet beautiful looking flyer. Probably because it reminds me so much, and positive, of my first game download ever: Cube Runner. Remember? I'll give this an insta-load in three hours.
Personally I can't see what all the hype is about, if it's free I'll look but otherwise from what I've seen there are better runners out there. Although to be fair it's a pretty poor genre for me.
Think it looks great. Much prefer a runner with these graphics. poor genre ? Can't see how you wouldn't like this but you like clicker games ?!?
No as I said in the forum for a recent clicker game I give it a go and liked it a little but stopped it pretty much the same day after that post. I try the odd one but they are usually mind numbing and time wasting but I try in the hope someone does more with it. Runner I just said don't suit me, I'm not really into high score games as I couldn't care less about beating a score, I play for fun and to complete games but like I said it was for me personally. I still try runners but for me comparing this to Warhammer Deathwatch, Kingdom Rush games, Space Marshal and countless others it just not the same. But everybody likes different things hence all the games : ) I was just saying I didn't get the hype on this particular one when to me there are ones that seem better that rarely get a mention.
Hi all, thanks for all the comments! Not sure if I'll get to all your questions, but here's a little more info: * the game has 3 modes: "Race The Sun", "Apocalypse", and "Labyrinthia." The latter two are pretty hard * It has 25 levels of unlocks, which give you attachments for your ship (magnet, etc.) * The world regenerates every 24 hours. It's infinite in every direction, and gets harder as you progress * There are rare "portals" you can fly into, which lead to a Void world with lots of extra points. * The game uses touch controls, rather than tilt. A lot of people ask for the latter, but it's just not as responsive. * You'll probably die a lot. It gets better * It requires a more recent "metal" supporting device. iPhone 5s, or iPad air or later. This is to guarantee that everyone who plays will experience the game at 60fps. * it supports iCloud, Game Center, and iOS controllers.
Yep Little known fact: Race the Sun isn't our first iOS project! "Monkey Drum" is a musical toy for kids, and was the first thing my brother and I made together: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/monkey-drum/id483225765?mt=8
I'll be picking this up in the morning. It's 12:30 AM here and I gotta get up early for work. Race The Sun looks to be really great. Looking forward to trying it out!
Got this at midnight in the UK and played until 2.30am before falling asleep playing it! It's really a great game and well worth the waiting and asking price, well for me anyway Review left on app store. Now back to sleep!!
There's something about the above in bold that seriously irks me, especially coming from you. :/ Oh wow...would you look at that? I had no idea! Had I known, I would've probably spent the entire week refreshing your App Store page in the hope that you would release Race The Sun earlier.
