Been out of the loop for a while as far as car/racing/driving games go - but do all of them have the screen sloshing around like in this vid - as you turn and stuff. Meaning no more tilting of the neck and the head and the neck ? If this is the standard now - ima go back to my old apps and have another go. Meanwhile - cant wait for race after 1977 !!!
New screenshots!! I hope this isn't far off, should be a good game. http://www.xpectgames.com/rashots.html
I can (happily) confirm the inclusion of touch controls for steering, and several options to fine-tune and customize those controls.
I played it last night. It was pretty cool. The physics are really sweet! Love the jumps... I'm also suggesting a few things that they add to make it even more fun!
Is this a remake or spiritual sequel to Ratbag's Powerslide? http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=powerslide+ratbag&aq=f
haven't played uber racer yet, although I've been meaning to. I wouldn't consider myself a 'tester' so to speak. Just checkin' it out and throwing out some opinions as a fellow dev.
So basically you devs just give out each other their games to try out? Well it does make sense really, who can give better feedback to a dev than another dev?
The HUD looks rather obtrusive and the handling a bit awkward. The track also looks a bit badly designed. Is this the case for people who have played?
The HUD, yes, perhaps a bit, in the current build. However, without breaching any vows of silence, I believe there is a good chance you will be very pleased once the game hits the App Store, HUD-wise. The handling and the tracks, the polar opposite of your concerns. The tracks are the most entertaining and well-designed (from a fun viewpoint, certainly not a realistic one) I've come across in *any* iOS racing title. The handling is an excellent hybrid of drift and action racing, and the car collision system is unrivaled on iOS, to my mind (again, from a perspective of what I find fun and satisfying, not realistic). My favourite part of RA1977 is ramming and pushing other cars off course, and they've got the close car combat feel down just right.
