Oh they DID add it!!! Right on thanks!!
**just tested with a MOGA, and it works great!
It supports controllers, works just as well as the sequel
EDIT: whoops, didn't see you already caught it in the next page
on sale for $1 now
Game is good. But they need to disable iPhone's auto screen dim when people are playing through controller.
Such a great game. Very addictive. Such satisfying gameplay.
Perhaps a port of Gradius...someday?
Yeah i would love that. I always preferred Gradius/Nemesis to R-Type but R-Type is an all time classic and i'm over the moon i have this version on my phone. Have both games on Gridlee (MAME) but have to support the devs when they release these games (and the touch controls work well)
Wish DotEmu would release more and more
A LOT of games (MFi supported games anyway) do this... I've gone ahead and turned the auto-off/sleep to off. Yes, I now have to make sure to actually turn my screen off whenever I put my phone up for a sec, but I've gotten so use to it, I don't even think about it anymore. =o/
Yes that could be the only workaround. I plugin my phone to TV and play it through Bluetooth controller, this screen auto dim issue makes me keep running between TV and chairs which is quite annoying...I find many of their iOS game have this issue such as KOF 97. I guess it will be an easy fix?
Anyone here finish R-Type on their device? Level 3 is kicking my ass.
I'm on level 5. Super difficult.
What are you playing on? Ipad? iPhone? ITouch?
Great stuff. 64 bit updates to this (and r-type 2)
R-Type I & II are updated to iOS 11 64bit compatibility! DotEmu have come through and saved these true arcade classics (and excellent ports) from 32bit oblivion! If you haven't yet played these games, they are near perfect ports of the original arcade versions. They control very well and are hard to beat in the best tradition of classic shmups # With their survival assured (at least for another generation of iOS) I can't recommend these highly enough #
