Just tried this solution from the Apple support and it seems to have worked https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7398697?language=en close all running apps go into airplane mode power off the device power on the device go to settings -> game center and log out of the game center. For me this was not previously accessible disable airplane mode and enable wifi log back into gamecenter from settings->game center I did do an additional force reset (holding home and power button till the Apple logo appear) And Game Center is back working - not sure for how long though...
Did not work here. I was able to access the Game Center in Settings but it froze again as soon as I tried to log out. Back at square 1. Thanks though. It was worth a try.
It works for 3-4-5 games then it doesn't and at some point this technique wont work at all on your iDevice.
There is no permanent fix people, you just have to wait. No point waisting your time, everything has been tried in every different way. It's time to live without GameCenter. R.I.P #
And mine just all of a sudden started working on my iPad Air without my doing anything. Still broken on iPhone 6Plus and iPad Mini. I'm not optimistic as to how long it'll keep working on the iPad Air. Very bizarre bug.
Class action? Apple sells I devices and give away apps they can just drop Game Center when they want. They don't sell gAming machines- they sell Machines capable of many other things. Since iOS gaming is not dead, I doubt you can try anything ( they still deliver) - and can we really make our voices heard? Is the iOS gaming community so big? Bigger than the casual iOS user?
My daughter can't use clash of clans because of it. Is it attached to gamecenter somehow . Spent hundreds on it and can't use it after the bug
I used the above method and my gamecenter has been working on and off for over a day now. What could be the reason that we are missing.
Doesn't work for me, Gamecenter just keeps trying to load with no success. I'll just wait for an update. These little workarounds are only temporary fixes, if you have had the problem sometime before it seems to always come back.
It doesn't work for me either. When I get to the step of signing out of GC, the wheel just spins and spins. Nothing happens. I will just hope Apple fixes it one of these days.
I just can't see it happening for a while, they are offered me a refund for my phone to go to Android because of the Gamecenter problem.
I dont think this is true. I had GC die, did a hard reset, and everything has been working for weeks now. Multiple games being played through GC without issues. I am not sure the cause, but I dont think all fixes are temporary. I think its still worth it for people to try different things, because in my case, the fix has fixed it apparently.
There is no permanent fix yet and I've been through 2-3 updates with no fix . They are still fixing bugs from a year ago
Have you tried downloading an old app that hasn't been updated for a while that uses an old Gamecenter? Download a few games from the Gamecenter app itself? Download lots of games at once that use Gamecenter? These methods will break it for sure. I have tried everything, this is my 3rd device. I have been offered a refund by Apple.
My problem seemed to start when I installed Flight Test. Deleting Flight Test and an app I had downloaded using Flight test, then doing a restore did not fix the problem.
I am not trying to purposely break it, but I download and play any game that I want, including some older games. I feel badly for everyone having difficulties. For me, if a fix didnt involve much time, i would keep trying, but I understand that might be overly frustrating for others.
