Triple play on mobile would be so killer same with the old SNES version of Ken Griffey baseball I do wish RBI baseball had the graphics like the retro days rather than take up 2 and a half gigs but I may still get it this season I skipped last two But after my cubs finally won one I will probably get it just because they will be awesome on this one
Well I'm downloading The Show as we speak. Have a new PS4 Pro and no earlier versions are compatible, natch, so no Jose Fernandez, but at least I can manage games and take a few practice swings to relieve the tension as required. Like Tom Hanks in A League of Their Own! I'm rubbish at batting anyway. I hope there will be a full featured baseball game on iOS one day,. In the meantime we have to choose our favourite and go nuts.
Some choppiness yes No problem seeing the ball for me Also a tip from years of playing RBI There is some guesswork just like in real baseball If you know or on instinct think a slow pitch is coming move up in the box get out in front of it and good things happen this is when I love a tired pitcher I will get a couple runs If he's throwing flame sit back and wait on it and drive the ball I'm enjoying the game few things could be and prolly will be improved but overall gameplay is fun Just won with the cubs 5-1 Love the controls for fielding
Amazing. After reading this thread I went and redownloaded RBI 2015 and 2016. 2016 felt a lot like I remember it. Choppy, stuttered animations… difficult to see the ball… washed out graphics. 2015? Holy cow. Butter smooth. It felt double, maybe triple the framerate. So what changed? The only thing I can spot, other than the color palette used, is the fact that 2016 made the batting camera a little lower so more 3D ballpark is shown. It's astonishing how different 2015 feels…
Whoa. That glitch sucks. And yes, 2015 ran better and looked way, WAY better. I have no idea what happened in 2016. They could have literally updated rosters, used a different color here and there on the UI, updated the icon, and called it good. It's a bummer to see this franchise sabotage itself. I'd hate to see it lose money and stop making RBI games. I've enjoyed a couple games in 2017, but have experienced a small glitch here and there as well. Just base runners not going when they should auto run and runners not getting out when the ball made it to the bag in more than enough time. EDIT: New glitch. Game audio was only coming out of my phone call speaker and not the bottom speaker like everything should be heard. Very weird! Opened it up on mute, switched mute off, and only heard it out of the call speaker. Hope that gets fixed too.
So I take it 2017 runs and looks like 2016 did? And to think, I was a huge promoter of this game when it was first announced and released. But the things that would take this game completely over the top and become the premier mobile baseball game tv support MFi controller support (thus making on-screen controls disappear) push for 30-60fps performance over graphics I think well just imagine if the folks over at Pixel Cup Soccer did a baseball game. #
It totally looks like 2016, but the ball seems to be more visable in my opinion. But I didn't have that much of an issue with it in 2016. But the bright graphics from 2016 are back, and though the original had bright graphics, it just doesn't work with this more realistic approach to the game. 2015 looked perfect in my opinion. I'd much rather see a muted color palate for a realistic RBI. That, or a more retro look for this bright color palate. But they can't please us all, I guess.
The update that just hit seems to have fixed the audio issue where the audio came out of the ear speaker instead of external speaker. BUT, while checking it, their team caught a pop fly of mine and threw it to the cut-off man. He held onto the ball and nothing happened for a long time. So, I forced my runner on first (who had tagged the bag) to go to second. THEN the AI threw the ball to first and my guy was called out! Why did the AI stop working until I did that, and why on earth would that make the runner out after he had tagged the bag post catch?!?
Another RBI. Yawn. Same as the last. Simple snooze fest. If I want to play a good handheld baseball I fire up my vita and play MLB the show 13. Sure the roster is outdated but it's a great looking great playing authentic baseball game. And a game as old as this vita version still manages to put every mobile baseball game to shame. 100 dollar vita. 10 dollar baseball game kills my fancy 1100 dollar iPad Pro and RBI baseball. Hey it could be worse than RBI baseball I guess. Like the garbage tap sports baseball.
Yup. Picked up a Vita weeks ago and quickly grabbed a copy of MLB The Show 14 (mainly because Cabrera was the cover). But man, it's a great game. My first The Show. Now I'm thinking of grabbing 17 for PS4. Remote playing that would be nice too!
