Even on the newest devices (iPhone 6s and iPad Air 2) last year, the framerate struggled to stay near 30. To compare, though, 2017 feels like I can see the ball a little better when pitching/batting. The graphics look very similar to 2016, unfortunately. I prefer the more realistic muted colors of 2015. The animation seems fine on my iPhone 6, iOS 10. Saves work like they have for the past couple years. One time, a runner of mine on 2nd didn't advance at all even though one of my batters hit one into the far corner. By the time I noticed and manually told him to go to 3rd, it was too late. That kind of thing only happened once though. I'm guessing it is very much 2016 with an updated roster, new UI, and maybe a tweek or two to the gameplay. For me, it's all I really need from a mobile arcade baseball game. In last year's version, it was extremely difficult to see the ball crossing the plate. I thought I was hitting a piece of popcorn. Hoping there will be an official review for the consoles as well as iOS. islesfan Well-Known Member Jul 25, 2012 319 3 18 Male Teacher Nevada #7 islesfan, Mar 28, 2017 Do you still have to move your batter around while trying to hit the ball? It's a classic mechanic that RBI Baseball has always had since the first one on the NES. That's the one I played all the time. I'd sure love to have those graphics as an option within this app. MobileOnTapYT Well-Known Member Feb 17, 2017 178 0 0 #11 MobileOnTapYT, Mar 29, 2017 Worth buying? xxteargodxx Well-Known Member Jan 11, 2011 349 0 16 Male NJ #12 xxteargodxx, Mar 29, 2017 Well this explains why I struck out 90% of the time, hit foul balls and only got 1 hit in a game earlier. This is before the ball got small, and all of the bugs were ironed out. Don't know if '14 had actual seasons. Last year's version still has the tiny ball. Too bad the Show's retro mode doesn't have seasons, but maybe in 2018. I was thinking about getting The Show 2017 to have both gameplay styles, but if their "Retro" version doesn't have seasons, then I'll just stick with RBI Baseball probably... Unless I really want to dive in deep this season. But then again MLB Manager and OOTP will probably deliver on that end for me. Wish we could have a premium baseball game that delivered on both managing/sim and arcade gameplay (if you want) for mobile. I don't buy into those F2P card/team builders. Rattyfus Well-Known Member May 8, 2012 57 0 0 #19 Rattyfus, Mar 29, 2017 Don't forget folks that the only reason there is a retro mode in MLB TS 2017 is that Ken Griffey Jr is the cover guy. I guess if the mode is a success this treat they may integrate season mode, but having read all the copy, I don't think that was the intention. If you want retro baseball plenty of games are still available, as detailed by our excellent correspondents. Whatever you play, play hard. Old school here, loved how you could control your pitch from release down to home plate in Triple Play. Most critics agree that NBA 2K series is great and put NBA Live out of business for consoles, but as for baseball, the series has been an epic fail. That's obviously a huuuuge reason why they stopped making 2K baseball games for the Xbox One. I'm definitely going to get the Show this year...just need to free up some HD space or figure out how 4.50 works with an external hard drive. Classic RBI was the best (IMO) for those who grew up in the '80s. Some posted a hysterical video on YouTube from the '86 World Series playing out how the real Game 6 ended.
