Its supposed to show the orange light only in Airport preferences. Nothing wrong there. Ethernet should be Green.
dude, that was weird - even though i had the right thing checked already, unchecking "internet sharing", checking it again and saving made a difference. now it's working. thanks a lot man. Is it possible for me to gift you an app somehow. I appreciate this.

You can connect anything which uses wifi. No apple to apple limit here. Btw, did u add any password to it yet? You definitely should or else your neighbors will be using your connections for free (You can do it in "Airport Options" in that internet sharing preferences)
