    Please. I want this. :p

It's not twitchy and it's not arcade, but damn, Penumbear deserves an honorable mention. It's a game that I've never deleted since I bought it.
It's just brutal precision platforming with a light/shadow puzzle mechanic that's used in so many inventive and challenging ways

hey guys, I'm looking for the name of a fun, quick, an hard platformer I came across a few months ago, and it e a good suggestion for this forum, only I can't remember the name!

it's a platform level based game. each level has a timer and when time runs out, the enemies turn red and move a lot faster. also, you pick up powerups on each level. I don't remember much except that to beat each level you place a bomb on the exit and it counts down a few secs. also, when you fail a level, the game gives you an option to watch a quick ad for a pair of "running shoes". not sure what they're called, but it increases your speed for the next life.

it's a really fun, addicting game, and it Is terribly difficult.

Playing Pixman Lite now. Love it. Will buy full version...but...
The buttons on iPad are WAY TOO small.

Is there a way to change this on iPad, in the full version?
    Anyone playing it on iPad?

    I probably would buy it.

from the studio that brought you Envirobear, and Fist of Awesome...comes the best retro SHmup in iOS history: "Arachnid Teacher Orgy Prison Prayer War Squad"!

    Sorry I'm on iPhone

How do you think it compares to 14px, LoE, etc.? I picked 14px as my number one because of the level design and the more varied hazards, but it was tough to choose between them. I think Pixman has the greater SMB vibe

I think the more you play Orborun, the more difficult you'll find it. Definately a game that I've hit the restart button on dozens of times on some levels....sometimes just having to play a bunch of times to figure out where the hell I needed to go.

And I was the one who gave it the "SMB of ball rollers" moniker. Glad to see it get tossed around (even in the TA review). Hey, I'll take any little bit of recognition (sad, isn't it? :) ).

Why's that? Most people on the leaderboards haven't made it to the spaceship and unlocked the endless portion of the game? I figure it takes a maximum of 5 minutes, probably less, to reach it. That means most plays are unsuccessful and under 5 minutes. My 2 cents.

I'm just not sure runners are something I'd put on here. At least not most runners. Maybe some level based ones, like bit.Trip

I can check later, my wife is playing Bingo on the iPad.

I don't see any option to change but didn't have any problem myself.

We were also glad (read really happy) and surprised to see the game in that list. Thank you again for downloading and playing.

Also thank you for the incredible game list in this thread. I foresee a lot of swearing and phone tossing over the holidays :))

Mad Agents! Love that game. Certainly deserves a spot on the list.

I'm kind of surprised nobody else mentioned Orange Pixel's Stardash and Meganoid. Two hard as nails platformers. I'm trying to 100% Stardash for over a year now, but I just can't :)

I'm am the most calmest and rational girl you could ever meet but something about technology and when it goes wrong, or I mess up and die in a game etc turns me into a total demon, my husband thinks I'm crazy, I'll have a one way convo with my laptop, I can be sat calmly playing on my iPad and then make everyone jump by shouting, jumping and swearing when I lose, or win sometimes lol, it's like an African rain dance and don't get me started what I'm like when the tv remote doesn't work lol. My family think it's funny.

    - last rocket
    - worm run
    - Orborun
    - Pixman
    - super hammer
    - Dafox
    - legend of equip pants
    - strike force heroes - Extraction HD
    - Space Chicks

    Quick imps:
Last Rocket - this is probably a great game, but it wasn't what I expected so I haven't played it too much yet. What I have played wasn't too entertaining to me. The great thing is that its only 1.2 MB's, so I can keep it on my device and revisit it later 3/5
worm run - I love this game. Its difficult. Frustrating....but may not keep me interested. i think it will be hard to keep playing. 4/5
orborun - Love this as well. There's only two downsides: it asks what control you want to use between EVERY level, and the slow down button is weird, and doesn't work too well. Besides that, perfect. 4.5/5
Commander Pixman - - this is a great platformer that is brutal yet fair. It could very well be one of the best two or three on iOS. The only downsides are the jump/fire buttons are way too small on the iPad, and I don't think there's a way to play without timers on the levels. I HATE timers in these sort of games. Sure, time me...give me challenges to meet with a timer, give me achieve, nets for meeting a time...but DON'T require me to beat a very difficult timer to advance the level. For me, That makes the game go from entertaining and relaxing fun to a laborious task.. 4.5/5
Super Hammer - awesome runner. Its basically temple run with balls meets max Payne. Very cool slow downs, slides, and jumps like max payne. awesome gun play while running/sliding. it doesnt have the best graphics. the load screen when you open the game takes forever...but it is great where it really counts: fun factor. 4/5
Dafox - - real low quality platformer. The screencaps and app description (plus its FREE and a small file size) REALY make you think its going to be good. It isn't. Deleted after 20 minutes. Feeling generous: 2/5
legend of equip pants- haven't touched this one yet
Strike Force Heroes - Extraction - AMAZING game. Auto runner with a great shooting and cover mechanic. It has a very robust upgrade system, and shells out In-App currency generously. There's 20 characters and each play completely unique. Each has a fault at first and then perks you earn by completing challenges. 5/5
Space Chicks - another great "runner", even though you aren't running; you're jumping from planet to asteroid to planet. This is THE BEST of this sort of game. 5/5

Out of these games the ones I recommend the highest:
    1. Strike Force Heroes - Extraction - if you enjoy platformers or runners at all, this game is a must-own
    2. Space Chicks - the App Store is full of planet jumping gravitational games. This ones the best (and there's some amazing games in this category).

@CLOUDPUFF- I've sort of learned what games you enjoy, based on all of the threads we've talked in. I'm pretty sure you'll Love Space Chicks. How's give me back my ball? What did you pick up?

Edit: all of those for $10. I love iOS games. :)

Haaa, space chicks already bought and beaten your score lol. I agree it's the best one of this type, lots of upgrades but is looks like there is plenty of coins to pick up during gameplay, especially at the end of each level, I love the transition between difficulty levels, I've not gotten very far yet but looks like it will hard quickly, I'm thinking of getting the coin doubler seeing as the game itself was cheap.

I also got give me back my ball which I am loving, it's not a frantic title but it's also not as easy as it looks. An alien and a little boy keep stealing the ball from each other and you play each character on alternating levels, you enter the bedroom and have to navigate around various obstacles to get the ball withou waking the sleeper. Finished level set 1 and look forward to playing the rest. I don't think it had gamecentre so I can't kick your arse at this one lol.

I also got numerity, was going to purchase but got a code, it basically a hidden object game but you need to find numbers that are hidden among other numbers, sums also need completing to get the number you need to find the numbers you have found make an image, gamecentre is there for competing but it's more of a relaxing game. The same kind of experience I got from kami although both are different.

I'm gonna have a proper look at the other releases and if nothing takes my fancy I'll prob pick up forget me not. I'm looking forward to riot runners, hope it releases soon.

Should have read it back to myself lol,

Pasted my comment from the numerity thread.

You are greeted with numbers in varying sizes and varying shades of grey, and the aim is to find the number given to you and tap it which highlights all the other versions of that number, progress is shown by a percentage wheel in the corner along with a timer, as you find more numbers a picture starts to build and on completion camera zooms out to reveal an image made up of numbers. I played with my Daughter (8) and had great fun with her trying to guess what the image was going to be.
