Stop posting new titles I can't keep up lol. I. Gonna have to have some time with the backlog before I make a top 5 list but octagon and duet will def be in there. Hundreds is another I'm on the fence over, think it's because of the numbers, how much of the game play relies on mental arithmetic? I'm useless at maths. Just had a go of impossible drop, the title fits well, I can't get past level two. Looking forward to playing more on that. I had an idea but it might be a bit lame, I was thinking we could choose / vote for one game a week from this genre and then if we all add each other on game we could compete against each other for the leader boards between us. I don't mind choosing from paid or free titles but totally understand if people can't afford paid and we only do free ones. would prob need to start a new thread if plenty if you are interested but I don't mind organising it. Could even make it more exciting by gifting a 69p game once a month if someone gets the high score the most weeks. Just an idea and dunno if it would be allowed on here, but thought it might be fun.
Hundreds isn't really about math. You're not really worrying about adding things, there's a counter on the screen that increases to 100 as you increase the circles' values so little or any math involved. It's all about reflexes and timing and some puzzle aspects. Like you, I was hesitant at first for the same reasons as you, but trust me, it's great and challenging and there's even some weird cryptic code stuff in between the levels to solve. And an endless mode. Edit: from Kotaku, a description of level 32: So yeah the gameplay is part planning, part puzzles, part fast reflexes and timing. I heard one review call it simple to play, difficult to master, and I totally agreee --- impossible drop? You mean the pong music game? Can you explain the gameplay, because I can't find any trailers or reviews
Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but infinite by Nexus Game Studio is one of my favourite games in the tough/minimalist genre and would be on any list of mine. There's a free version - infinite prime. Nice idea Cloud, I'm in.
Not so sure Groove Coaster belongs on the list but I suppose on the harder songs to get an 'A' or 'S' could be device throwingly hard. I'll reiterate Mini Dash as a hard as nails platformer that hasn't yet been added.
There are several floors which are basically thick black lines with a gap in, each of these floors have a triangle on (probably several as the game advances) and you must hit each of these triangle only once and then get the ball through the gap. You do this by moving the floors and lining up the triangle and then the gap with the ball as it falls, which is done by dragging the floor left and right, I've not got past the third floor, so I can't say how complex it gets but based on what I have played its bloody hard, the ball moves fast so you really do need to think quick. The music and background changes every now and then, what bits of music I have heard I like, fast and frantic just like the game lol.
Was about to say this. I tried Groove Coaster and I don't think it really fits I'll add Mini Dash now. Have you guys played Super Bit Bash? That's good endless platformer, that has a normal and hard mode and can get very challenging. Might not fit here, but worth a try, see what you think Free, btw
You have to try 1-Bit Yeah, I don't know if Groove Coaster fits either.,.i just love it and wanted to shout it out.
1-bit Ninja or Bit-1? Surprised to see I had already downloaded Bit-1, not sure why I deleted it. It's a lot of fun, kind of like if you stuck a shmup onto the head of precision platformer. You can fire projectiles and collect upgrades to take out enemies, while dodging bullets and platforming around hazards.
Bit-1 Sorry. I tarted a Possible Drop thread, there wasn't one. This game is really good, but is brutal. It fits this category to a T. There's 16 "Possible Drops", and if you ever get through those you open up 16 "Impossible Drops" (or you can unlock them for a buck IAP). http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?p=3038145&posted=1#post3038145
Finally got some more iTunes funds so I'm looking at: Drop Possible Forget Me Not Air Supply Infinite Bit.Trip.Run (does it run okay on iPhone 4?) Orris (Only getting one or two) --- And if you guys didn't know, IOS is supposed to get a port of Electronic Super Joy, which is awesome. If any of you are PC gamers, I have a spare Steam key if you're interested
Bit.Trip.Run for the Win. Also, I wouldn't say Chicken Boy belongs in this thread, but it just went free. All of you guys should grab it and rate it while its FREE. It was an easy choice for my game of the week, yes over oceanhorn.
Ahhh....how could I forget Bit.Trip Run. Definately should be on the list. Also think Bit.Trip Beat would be a good fit.
Need to find out how it runs on my device And this is Electronic Super Joy If they can nail the touch controls, it'll be the best SMB-style game on IOS
Just a warning: least on my ipad3 and for some others bit trip beat crashes on certain point so you can never finish it and was never patched.
iOS 6.x Runs great on my iPad 2, iPad 4, and decent on my iPod touch 4 The latest update did winders for the control lag
That game kinda needs some high powered devices, I think Bronxsta was asking if it played ok framerate wise on an iphone 4.
They recently released an update for iOS 7 compatibility and some fixes so it may work through the end now. I just recently got it and aren't far enough in to confirm.
