I was a huge Dungeon Master player on the Atari ST years ago. I was hoping The Quest would be the DM for the ios but although i played a number of hours with it, I soon got bored with it. Since then I've been hoping for an ios version of Dungeon Master in an ios castle of grimlock and I've been waiting for Questlord for about a year too. Not played Questlord yet but I'm hoping it'll be as good as I remember Dungeon Master was.
Beginning to think I was doomed. No place to sleep or regen hps. Was out of food and money, then stumbled upon a "life giver" ring. Damn nice piece of eq.
Ok-- wtf am I missing? I start out in some kind of elf grove. There are a few elves to talk to, one of who tells me I can't exit until I defeat the evil monsters. But the mini map shows I've totally explored the grove, and the only monsters I've encountered are a "nice wolf" & a "old wolf". The how-to-play link is no help, describing some basic game mechanics. What am I overlooking? Perhaps the website should include an initial area walk through or something...
Ok I got the magic tools quest item but what now? I love the game and also confused to. Yes the life giver ring is pretty sweet
The is an elf (I think in the north area of the map) who has a quest for you, she opens a portal so you can proceed. Edit: East*
Spoiler One of the elves should have opened a portal next to himself when you accepted a quest. You have to go through that portal and travel to various other places to complete the quest and be able to exit. Spoiler The quest is not far from where you got the item (southwest from where you found it I think). You need to find a guy at a dead end who wants to build a house.
I found a spell (teleport) but can't pick it up because it says the spell book is not ready. Did I get there too soon? Do I need to wait for it?
Wait until you find then go back to learn the spell. Whether or not you have to go back depends on your starting race I think, but chances are you just haven't gotten there yet. I posted where the spell book is under spoiler tags a couple pages ago.
Umm...this game is awesome. It's the perfect light rpg first person dungeon crawler. Others have tried (Undercroft, the Quest, Silver Sword), but this is the real deal folks.
This is an excellent game and shows the creator put alot of work and care into it. I love the ios platform and these kinds of games so thank you and I will gladley be purchasing any future updates.
I would like to see a quick travel system as well. Between having to return to and out of dungeons after already completing just for spells is kind of a pain. Great start though
