You are nowhere near the spellbook. Keep heading east to get the next quests (and get the opportunity to travel to where the spellbook is).

Referencing the large world map saved me a number of times. First you must get to the Spoiler human castle Spoiler (out of the village) , which, if you want a direct answer, links to Spoiler the elf village, where the spellbook is on the floor in front of a bolder .
Can someone please tell me where exactly the blue shards are?? On page 23 someone mentioned on the island with mosquitos But where is insanity and the crimsom Caverns??
Keep questing and you'll find these; it's a lot more fun to search for them and also discover what you run into along the way. The areas you ask about should be obvious on your journey so you might just not be in the right point of the game. But... if you must know... these are both approximately Spoiler around Norrab ... in general you can use detailed world map to seek clues/hints Spoiler involving holes in the mountains surrounding Norrab . Specifically the cave, Spoiler Crimson Cave is immediately accessible by exploring about 2-3 maps southwest below the Citadel and the dungeon, Spoiler lies below a dwarf mining town further along that same route but there is some Spoiler questing involved to obtain passage within that dwarf town; you can see dwarf town within mountains on world map. . Report back if you have luck. Also please use [spoiler.]...[/spoiler.] tags around quest hints/info in your question (remove periods); also option is on toolbar.

Spoiler In Norrab Citadel to the right side of the courtyard at the Wizard Banister's place. You would have needed to do a quest to get the portal the open; you get that quest from Banister if you bave nit already done so. . Good luck.
I feel dumb for asking. But I noticed someone mentioned the fireball spell earlier, and I remembered seeing it at one point. But when I went back to where I thought it was I couldn't find it. So I must have remembered it wrong. Could someone please point me in the right direction to that one? Thanks a ton!
If you mean that black tower, then that's a different spell. I thought it was in Northice, but maybe I'll check every piece of elf land just in case.
How does this stack up against The Quest (which I am assuming QuestLord resembles, shared roots and similar gameplay an' all that. If not, that only make the game more interesting)?
Get this and undercroft (free version with only one ad each start up) The quest is more for the hardcore and Quest lord is more casual or easier.
