Well... Nevermind... I came up with a new strategy and wiped the floor with them. I just beat the game! Loved the whole game from start to finish! 5th person on the Leaderboard to beat the game! Woot! Good work Eric!
What was your new strategy? How long did it take you to complete Questlord? Seiously considering getting it after watching the video...
@Eric/LavaLevel: Well, I'm not remembering well, but I think the game was on for 1-2 hours long before I finished. And I'm second in the Quest Winners list! Woot! BUT! The game only registered 16 achivements, and I'm sure I have finished all 18 quests. Maybe it's a bug? As for the expansions, that's hopefully wishful thinking from me. Actually I enjoyed this game better than The Quest. I'll try Undercroft next.
Could someone please help me as I'm desperate as h***? Spoiler I've been looking ALL OVER for my last blue shard but I can't find it anywhere! I've honestly spent hours and hours looking for it, but I just can't figure out what place I haven't gone through. Spoiler If I remember correctly, I've already collected shards from Crimson Caverns, Insanity and the Swamp island. Question is, where is the last one? Btw, a piece of advice: Spoiler DON'T use the amulet to reveal map as it makes it impossible to see which places you haven't already looked.
For Spoiler blue shard try Spoiler NorthIce ; I think it's towards Spoiler the left of the entrance but not 100% sure . Thanks bigred447uk! With our shared fondness for Fall of Angels, Mission Europa, and Final Fantasy Dimensions every now and then I check out your recommendations. Maybe I need to realize Foursaken Media will never top Bug Heroes and give Heroes and Castles a fair chance.
I'm an Elf Mage so I kept my distance and used fireballs. Also, as a Mage I never used a shield, but stumbled across one and decided to use it. That was pretty effective too. I would say the 18 hours mentioned earlier in the thread is fairly accurate. Could have been longer. The game is addicting. Just buy it! It's definitely worth the $2.
I beat the game and I have all 18 quests completed. I don't think it is a bug. I think you missed a couple quests.
And that's where it was, Spoiler right there in the Wolf area! Thank you so much!! Now I can finally finish the game which I've been very much hooked on since the second I downloaded it!
Here's a slightly outdated list of iOS first person turn based dungeon crawlers that I made a while back. There definitely needs to be more stuff like QuestLord; if there can't immediately be more QuestLord. It's mind boggling how far QuestLord came from that early first beta build (which included an abbreviated portion of the human town and necromancer quest).
From that list of iOS first person turn based dungeon crawlers, aside from QuestLord's polished interface and The Quest's expansive content, there's not a lot that stands out as crisply. Silversword is an obvious passion project from the developer but I haven't played it since he improved the previosuly burdensome UI on small screen. Tumulus of Fen is an economical grab ($0.99) with sprawling maps and environmental sound cues. The Bard's Tale includes the PS2 port action RPG remake and ports the trilogy of 1980s computer classics (but overall file size is massive, >1.5gb). Some of the others look interesting to me but I haven't gotten to them yet (hopefully they're still functional); Wizardry Labyrinth of Lost Souls , Eternal Throne, Oubliette RPG, etc. It's curious how many seemingly quality iOS RPGs from small developers get overlooked on App Store so it's refreshing to see QuestLord get credit for what it does so well.
UndeadCow... AKALABETH!!!! Honestly, I LOVE the port of Akalabeth for iOS. It's Hilarious. Feels great. And it's actually really fun. Hands down wins the 'OLD SCHOOL' prize on that list. I was somewhat disapointed with Alternate Reality. Can't play on my iPhone at all. Their interface is strange. but I am SO HONORED to be on your list!!! YES!!! On the Leaderboard? That's strange I see you as #4!!!! Thank you for playing! And all the way to the end! So I guess that part of my game is working? everyone has 20 points. :/ maybe I should look at that point scoring code.
No, I'm sure I've done all quests, because I got 17 checked quests before I got the last one from Spoiler Thelia . BUT! I'm playing Infinite Blade at the moment, and it does not register ANY of my achivements, so it must be something with my device.
QuestLord official won the TA forum Game of the Week poll; congratulations! QuestLord amassed a landslide 45% of the total vote for favorite game released this week. Veiled comments about continued work on QuestLord taunt us... [the plot thickens] Nice, with a recommendation like that I instantly downloaded Akalabeth - World of Doom!. The faithful retro graphics and interface is fun but that game is brutal so far; wonderfully brutal. Thanks for the recommendation!
Yea, that back arrow in Akalabeth is confusing, its an instant turn around button. Interesting... but confusing Have you found the Gremlins? Man those little thieves! Yea that was fantastic! So humbled and honored that the little rpg that could got so much support and enthusiasm by the forum. You guys are awesome!
Playing human and stuck big time. I've gone everywhere 5 times and touched every wall. Im afraid i will outlevel the next few areas killing bandits over and over. I've done the bandits quest and the tools quest. I did find the tools before getting the quest first though. I cannot find the spellbook. Any hints?
