I have a question about updating my iPod Touch 2G from OS 2.2.1 to OS 3.0 - the main reason I haven't updated yet is because I have almost 600 ebooks stored on the device & don't want to risk losing those books as well as all of my game saves. I understand that the update wipes all data off of the iPod, but my question is this: after I upgrade to 3.0, can I restore my saved data by using a backup file created under OS 2.2.1? I'd also like to know if both the wi-fi performance and battery life take a noticable hit after upgrading to OS 3.0 & if the overall speed/performance of the device is improved as well. I'd appreciate any & all advice on this matter. Thanks.
