wow....very disappointed. Why did apple do this to us?! NOOOOOOO!!!! I was eagerly awaiting a camera and mic. ((
Me too! I think that they lost thousands, if not millions of sales because they didn't add anything new! (besides GB and voiceover)
im sorry, but i just have to take this time to LOL at all the people who were convinced that the ipod touch was getting a camera. nothing personal what are the new features anyway?
Bigger HDs (32GB & 64GB) and faster chips (same as used in the iPhone 3GS). That's it. Frankly, I'm not at all surprised there was no camera update. Apple would be stupid to hurt their own iPhone sales.
Cuz everybody buys a phone for the camera. A camera on the Touch (at most 3 megapixels) is not gonna make people trade in their phone for a Touch. Now a Wi-Max enabled iPod with the capability of running Skype in the background would make more sense for a switchover. Apple would be freakin' geniuses to add on a camera and mic. I mean, you can already buy a mic for your iPod, all the Creative Labs products have it. It'd be convenient, along with a camera. I honestly do not wanna take a picture with my tiny nano. I'll barely be able to see the picture even if I do. The worst it'd do would be decrease sales on the Nano and Classic (unlikely and unlikely), and increase the sales with the iPod Touch (much more profit). But what about the cases with the camera hole in 'em. Was that just a rumor, too? I don't even feel like getting a new touch anymore.
To be honest, that's pretty much everything I was hoping for. Well, at least matching the performance of the 3GS, at any rate. The camera and mic I can do without.
Reading the specs it seems the battery life also increased dramatically. May be the camera will come in January or so.
In January? Two iPods in less than a year... Apple's marketing team would have to be made up of wizards and warlocks.
increased? It says 30hrs right, I thought the 2nd one was 36. what's the black patch on the back of the iPod for anyway?
its for wifi, and they won't release cameras cuz jobs says that the touch is supposed to be an entry level to the appstore and the iphone is the next level up. something like that.
I'm sad that there's no camera on the touch. If it's any consolation, the nano's cam is for video only, it seems. Plus, not sure if anyone has noted this yet, the 32 and 64 GB touches come with earphones with the remote + mic in the box. They also have Voice Control (the voice navigation feature introduced with the 3GS).
Because they need some scrap of hope that they'll get their silly iPod touch with a camera and mic this or next year. Three words: buy an iPhone!
