Seeing as Castle Crasher is one of my favorite games I'll probably never say it. But anyways the game its self looks cool as long as its not to repetitive.
One thing we can say from that video: it won't be a Zombieville clone. And that's a really, really good thing.
Sexy graphics Firstly I just want to say great job on the graphics I find it the best looking app on my iPod I agree with the above users that you should take inspiration from castle crashers while your designing this game. On a knights onrush related note does anyone else apart from me experiance problems connecting to openfient on knights rush?
This game indeed was highly inspired by Castle Crashers. But as it is now, it's pretty different. The free version, the one that you all are waiting for, is a survival type of a game - you are rated by how far you can get on your track. It is also very dynamic, much more than Castle Crashers, it's a little like hurdle race. Unlike CC, it was designed for short game sessions - you go quickly, levelup very fast, and can die pretty soon, too (as seen on a video .
So I take it the paid version, if made, would be more like castle crashers? This looks like it has potential and if the paid version was even close to castle crashers I would buy it in a heartbeat.
We haven't decided it yet. Most likely, it will have two parts - a story, where you have to pass thru levels beating different kinds of bad guys, and "achievements", where you play endless levels, and your mission is to get as far as possible.
This sounds nice and all, but I'm curious about the original Knights Onrush. Has further development of that game been cancelled? I remember that earlier on, there was talk about adding a bunch of new content to the game, including boss fights and such.
Well I'll hope it sells better then... still, have you considered providing additional content to your games via paid DLC? I'm sure a lot of existing customers would love to get some extra content, and wouldn't mind paying for it. Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing how this game goes
Sounds good, and I feel knights onrush has a great deal of content as is, but DLC would definitely be a plus.
Said it was submitted about 10 days ago - usual app store backlog? This game looks awesome and I keep waiting to see it has been released!
True. And we added stuff, too. We had ambitious plans for further development, tons of new creatures, objects and levels, even a new world/map for DLC, but the current outcome is pretty sad. People prefer stickwars - well, it's them who decide.
I suppose the masses aren't really that interested in a rehash of an existing genre though once they already own one version. Expect exaclty the same lack of enthusiasm for that other unimaginative upcoming game from chillingo that is ripping off zombieville.
