This looks and sounds good, looking forward to it. Note to self: Read whole thread, learn more what is going on here Too bad I missed this thread when it started last year. But then, very nice surprise now.
There are! We've got new mini-maps and world maps in, which are now way easier to read and understand. We've been heavily balancing gameplay, specifically drop rates of items, passive health regen, potion use and a bunch more of small, but crucial issues. From all our playtesting so far, it is safe to say the game is getting way more fun... which is cool because we've been playing Pylon throughout its various stages for nearly 50 weeks. We have buffed the later difficulty levels and some monster abilities, buffed shields stats, increased the leashing tether on monsters, made loot easier to see in-game and buffed two hand weapons. We are also working on some cinematic paintings, information overlays for the various GUI menus, and making the beginning tutorials more streamlined. Additionally, we are positioning Pylon for release on multiple platforms, although not simultaneously. May, as a release goal, is now out of the question due to this fact, but more to come on an official release date!
That is cool idea as an aesthetic for an armor set, kinda like a Prince of Persia mixed with Assassins Creed look? At this point adding another playable character model with animations and gear to fit would be for an update and not in the release build.
Yeah more Pop Sot style though, white assassin robes can only go so far. Update sounds good. What is a price estimate, if possible?
Sweet. I'm holding out hope that you guys can point to same genre fails like DH4 and say "hmmm, how can we do what they did good, while not doing what they epic failed.." Like potions on timers etc.
I hope it not freemium. I hope it will release soon. Dinodudes are a waiting. Saansilt hears their voices. The challenge him. Saansilt must answer. Focusing, Dev this looks awesome so far and let it be known that you will have my wallet's support.
Well there are no timers in Pylon. You can't buy loot. Levels aren't arenas. The in-game economy is based on gold, which drops all the time from everything that has a loot table. We definitely set out to make a solid ARPG without hamstringing the fun of the experience with pay-walls and forced in-app. While some ARPG fans may not fully appreciate a game like DH4, it has been supported by a lot of people through their wallets, and that is extremely hard to argue against.
Not to be "That Person", but summer doesn't technically start until June 21st - however hot it might feel beforehand. So a summer release would mean getting excited through the end of June all the way to September 21st. (Anyone remember Torchlight 2's "summer" release that only just actually happened in summer?) Also, this looks fantastic and I'm very excited to see the finished product.
