Why would he be short? The recruiter allows you to hire workers. He should be able to reach any sort of max regardless. Edit: oh you're saying the recruiter maxes at 30. I see now.
No problems before patch, updated and no problems after patch. Plus I got 5000 coins! Thanks devs! Much appreciated. Just wanted to point out that the people getting these bugs and having a loud voice on the forums are in the minority. This is still a great game , wih fresh and fun mechanics. My only complaint is that after the patch the toolbar gets "stuck". I can't scroll to the previous tools until I use a tool closest to the side. Would like to see that fixed soon as I'm wasting tools I don't need to use just to get to the ones I need. All in all - LOVE THIS GAME
I followed the instructions and I had no issues, and I received the 5000 coins. Thanks for the update!
You might want to read the numerous one star reviews in iTunes. andsoitgoes this is a long shot, but do you still have the original version of the game somewhere on your computer? If so, you can re-install it and start a new town and then apply the update. At least that way, you'd get the coins.
According to what statistics? I believe you may be right about it being a minority, but I'm not sure how you would know that. One way or another, if you check the iTunes reviews, you'll see this "minority" is quite loud there as well, so there are definitely some issues they need to resolve if they don't want to see how well a 2.5 star app sells in the AppStore.
I think if one has a problem, the probability of going to the app store and leaving a bad rating is way higher than someone happy leaving a good rating. The need to rant is more powerful than the need to praise.
This is true. However the fact that a day after the update, there were over a hundred reviews, mostly 1 star, and that all the "most helpful" reviews are 1 star is a problem. Even if they are a minority, they are a sizable one.
I deleted the game and reinstalled it after I heard the update after the no string fiasco so guess no coins?
Count me in the bugged crowd. Had no problems before update (barring 1/2 my achievements not showing up), built my castle and then let it sit waiting for an update. Updated directly on iPad and launched game and have no village at all. Wiped my game out. Had left the game on to play more if additional content was added later on, but don't think I am going to play another several hours to unlock the castle again. All in all it was an enjoyable, well spent $0.99 but kind of bummed I lost everything after.
My understaning is that if you reinstall they have no way of recognizing you as an existing player so there's no way to grant the gold except in an existing saved game updating from the old version to the new one. Someone please correct me if that is wrong.
Correct. You need to have a game in progress on your device (from version 1.0) before you update in order to get the coins.
Unless the game no longer launches after you update. If it helps isolate the bug, I have a 4th gen iPod, not jailbroken.
That's crap so I was suppose to keep it and wait and wait for an update but instead I deleted it so no coins well way to screw people I still like chillingo and replaying this game though so don't get me wrong but geez. I hope war zone china comes out soon.
5000 coins Didnt get the no string bug but applied the update then game wouldnt load. (New game). Deleted and reistalled and played (the tutorial yawn) until the market place but no save so no coins. As expected really. If the dev/appstore knows your initial date of purchase (or that you had bought a pre update copy) could they simply push 5000 coins to all purchasers prior to the 1.0.1 update release? Maybe showing my app store ignorance here.
I think it's too late for that. They have made some mistakes and they are going to have a small fraction of the success that they could have had, because of it. This result already exists and that's why we especially don't need people ranting on and on about how they didn't get their 5000 coins (which I could have had and didn't even want) and this is the worst thing that's ever happened to them. We get it. They screwed up. They will get what they deserve, and more. Now can we please go back to, you know, the actual game?
Why can't you launch the game? This is the first I've heard of that. I know that the new version doesn't work with some people's old save files, but I thought it works for everyone if you either (1) use a file manage to delete the old save file, or (2) uninstall and reinstall the game, which has the same effect.
Was going to wait to see if the Dev had any comment for all of us that updated without the "no string bug" and the game wiped out our saves and crashed right after entering a new town name. Part of me was hoping that the 5000 apology coins would still be somehow paid out (actually in game, I sank several hours and had over 3000 coins amassed). So after reading the comment above, I said forget it to the apology coins since I never needed extra coins anyways, and deleted the game and reinstalled it. This time it allowed me to enter my town name and I got to read about 5 paragraphs of the intro tutorial. Then it crashed. So I'm going to go get my matching fix with other games and I guess monitor this thread for more info.
Haven't had the "No String" bug and have just updated - received the 5,000 coins and my save game is OK.
