So before the update there was a bug that screwed some people over. Now after the update, everyone gets screwed over...

Did I miss anything? Consumable IAP FTW!

Same here I have the no string bug and all the lost hours put into it now gone. At least save a backup or to the cloud or to multiple devices if the game is going to be this buggy as to deleting my entire town after an update

Folks that have lost data when updating, are you guys downloading the update through iTunes then syncing, or downloading the update directly?

I downloaded the update directly to my iPad.

I had the "no string" bug, and now after the update whenever I try to start a new game it crashes. :(

    Delete the app and reinstall.

    Wow guys. Just wow.

There is no way this went through as a rush fix. Don't try and tell us it did. Maybe you thought that was the case but no. If it had been rushed through and it was your first, this fix would have been applied within a day. That's the standard app store policy. Someone messed up there.

So regardless, I updated as the plan was an fancy that, I can't freakkng create a town! Seriously! Do you guys have pigeons running the QA team? Honestly! I thought it may have something to do with the previous name, so I changed it. Nope, crashes the second I hit enter. Nothing I can do works.

Oh, and to the suggestion of deleting and reinstalling, the dev have stated that to get the bonus, you need to update. Which would be fine, But even it is broken!

Your team in their infinite wisdom have successfully pushed a fix that is even more broken than the game was before. At least I may have been able to start a new city, not now! Come on!

I don't think I would be so upset if we hadn't been promised and promised and promised that this was THE fix. It's obviously not and it's going to be interesting to see what you can do to try an dog yourself out of this new hole.

Like Ricky used to say to Lucy, "You got some 'splainin to do!!"

The reason this feels like an apt analogy is that this whole debacle reminds me of the chocolate conveyor skit. No one wins due to your mistakes. It has labeled you as developers who cannot properly produce a game or a fix to a game without decimating bugs, and it's turned many of your players against you.

I'm going to try reinstalling, and maybe I'll get the coins, but I bet a lot of your potential buyers won't even try again after this second snafu.

    Exactly what I expected.

The only solution was to reinstall.

And guess what was not provided at the reinstall?

    It wasn't a pony, I wasn't expecting a pony. Not a unicorn.

You guys simply poured salt in everyone's wounds by first not catching a bug that was incredibly prevalent, then you promise you put the fix in as a rush fix (you didn't, at least not the proper way or it would have hit almost immediately) and in this new update that was supposedly perfect, fixing all the problems so they would no longer happen, it would give us all that lost our progress 5000 coins as an apology. Yet it looks clear that many who update were completely unable to create a new town or did not get the coins promised.

It's one thing after another after another. There is no excuse for a game with this much backing to have oh so much fail.

I would truly love to hear this one explained.

As to why in still here? Because this game has so much promise for greatness. It honestly does. It could be something monumental, this is an amazing blend of so much goodness, so I want to believe. I do! But jeez.

    You're risking a heart attack for an 1-$-game? I think you're exaggerating a bit.
You should better stick to your name... ;)

I thought you were a proponent of price doesn't matter?

Regardless, I explained above the potential of this game. There is a serious potential for greatness. It was a hell of a fun game, but it's been handled in a terrible, terrible way.

Promises were made by developers that they couldn't keep, they didn't catch a bug that a large number of people had.

I don't care if it was a dollar or a hundre dollars, it's the principle of the thing. It's promises not kept. It's poor handling of a MAJOR issue. So yeah, I'll get passionate about it.

I'll personally offer to send each and every one of the complainers their $0.99 back if they will just give it a rest.

I feel like I am in a soap opera instead of a gaming forum.

Oh really now? I'll post that in my iTunes review then.

Would you offer the same at $2.99? $3.99? $9.99?

At what point do we stop holding developers accountable for mistakes that can wipe 10+ hours of progress?

I already stated that I wouldn't be so upset if the promises made were kept or properly made in the first place, but they weren't.

Now, I wasn't upset at the developers behind junk jack, because I felt a different level of connection with them. They had measures in place due to the complexity of the game and have worked tirelessly to fix the problems. They communicated through their app store description immediately the issues and how to help prevent them. None of this was done here.

And with how much word of mouth and press this game has gotten, the sales are, or were, rolling in like crazy.

But should we just sit back and be okay?

You can stop reading or responding at any time. You could ignore me, if it's bothering you. All these things are at your fingertips. Instead you are simply taking the stance of a "Dude chill bro" mentality.

Simply ignore those who are complaining if you can't handle it. I, for one, will continue to express my frustration for a major snafu in a game that should never have been released in its current state.

Hold them as accountable as you want. I'm just sick of hearing about it. We get it. You lost all your progress. You didn't get the 5000 coins. I'm sorry. I suggest you punish them severely by requesting a refund from Apple, and not giving them $0.99 for their next game. That will show them.

I just don't understand all the trouble. People are stressing themselves. Just because of a little iOS game - such a major uproar.
I wish I had problems like that. Give the devs a break. I am sure they don't went like "hey, now lets fukk the whole game up to anger the people at touchArcade".
Have you listened to yourself, read what you wrote? That's quite some drama you stirred up here.

Lol, at least you did a successful reality check.
Are people acting in the same when when someone at McDonalds forget to put the onions on an 1-$-burger?

edit: hey, 100 rogues was updated at least "a dozen times". Always freaking buggy. Again and again. Why haven't those devs been put at the stake yet?
Nah, it's not worth it to discuss this further.
