FOR THOSE WITH THE NO STRING BUG: When this occurred, did the game go through the full load process (I.e. you got to the main menu and had to press continue)? Had the game been suspended prior to that? I'm wondering if the game isn't saving data properly if it gets terminated while suspended.

Sometimes is better to let rat eat some less important crop and save Cat tool for better occasion. As for the mine - I personally like BIGBANG in the mine to getting more rubble which is needed to one cool tool in the middle of the game. Rubble is also valuable because you cannot buy it in the shop. There is no achievment for "no eaten animals etc" but it's not bad idea though. We will think of it. MidianGTX No, it's not. As in other players' villages? I didn't realize there was any connectivity in this game. Or are you referring to something else? That would be awesome, though.
GeekyDad Not really from other villages. You can get people for hire from buildings like cottages, houses, mansions but you can also hire them for certain goods (as justin mentioned). Worker for hire will appear on your list of workers after building recruiter house.
Kinda have to agree. This is a solid game semi-ruined by freemium flavoring. Yes I understand you don't need any IAP, but the game is clearly designed to encourage the weak willed to use them. The timers on taxes and so forth and the bonuses you can get by spending what is, at least at this point in the game, a ton of gold just make the game feel freemium, whether it is or not. This game sucks me in, but then when I get out I feel all icky.
Yep, it's a perception issue, which is why I suggested dropping the fee for farming and mining. Maybe the "valuable" version of the end game message should only appear for the next tier of items (gold, diamonds, cows, apples). You still have the option to save/continue on the regular message, but you wouldn't be hit with the valuable version quite so early in the game. This is absolutely not a freemium game in the sense you need the IAP to play, but it gives that impression.
Misguided: We've actually have the same idea you've been describing - to show question about saving fields only for valuable items, but after tests we figure out that there are certain achievements where you want to save the fields also on the basic level so we left this button as it is. Me personally never used this button playing. My favourite is to buy mine moves and sometimes supplies. Best Bartek
Buying Gold Been playing since Friday. I had the same problem with buying gold. Not getting any and having the error message that it is purchased but not download.. then it hangs at "connecting to server" Am at level 14 and going to hit 15 soon.. should I stop in case I get hit with the "no string" error? iPhone 4S, 32GB with latest iOS
@wec hard to say. We didn't encounter such error before while testing. As far as we see couple of guys unfortunately get it. We will know what causes this issue hopefully in Monday and try to fix it with next update.
I bought the game and I'm really loving it so far, but I started the game on my iPhone and would like to continue it on my iPad. Is there any way to transfer the progress data or make it sync between devices?
Fair enough, though I think anyone deliberately going for an achievement doesn't need that sort of prompting. I think the benefit of the change would outweigh the cost, personally. Just my .02
@ArsThanea Eliminating rats by linking 3 of them is a free turn. Why does eliminating wolves take up a turn? Just curious.
It did go through a full load process for me -- with what seemed to be a longer than normal pause on the At Games splash screen (though I can't quantify it and it's very possible that I just imagined it). And, yeah, the game had been suspended prior to the save corruption, so I'm guessing your hypothesis is probably correct.
I agree -- it isn't freemium, but it does seem like that, especially with the notifications to come back and collect tools/taxes. But yeah, completely playable without coins.
Justln: Picking rat doesn't take time because you've most probably bought ratcatcher hut. Later in the game you will be able to buy a building which does the same with wolves.
! Great game so far, I am around lv 14 and I enjoyed doing the puzzles and managing resources and building stuff. I had no need to buy IAP so far, I would just stop playing for a bit and come back to it later to get some coins but I never really ran low. Also I enjoy selling resources in order to buy others if I didnt feel like farming or mining before wanting to build something. I hope this continues to keep my attention but I got my moneys worth so far for sure!
