So, uh, I'm loving this game and sank hours upon hours into it. Which made it sting that much more when I relaunched it and was greeted by this:
I agree. Reduce the amount of food we need to bring into the mine by half and reduce farming cost to 10 coins or free and the game would be perfect. When I want to build something, I'm usually short chickens, carrots and/or pigs and ore. So I'll go get chickens, but I need that food to mine, so I use it to mine, but then I have to go farm again because I used my food to mine. By the time I'm done I'm almost out of coins and I can't do anything else until my collectable upgrades are available.
Whoa, dude, looks like you either reached the very end of the game, or the very beginning! hehe Trippy. (And bummer, hope that corrects itself!) Meanwhile, I thought I'd try supprting the developers and give myself more time to play the match three part of the game by buying some IAP coins - doh! Definitely a bug there, coins did not arrive.
I am up to level 19 and the game just keeps adding new stuff, keeping it fresh and impressing me more. As for some of the comments on balance, I think the developers got it just right. I often struggle with resources and having to make difficult decisions is part of what makes the game's appeal last. More generous rewards in the game, or buying resources using IAP for that matter, would make it too easy for me and less enjoyable. This game is downright amazing in it's polish and the amount of addictive gameplay it provides.
Is there any comment as to how the long the gameplay goes in this game? I wanted to get Random Heroes this week, but I read of a few people in beating it in just over an hour.
Can someone comment if there is actually a true "ending" to this game? How long does it take to acquire "all" of the upgrades with IAP? Is it possible to reach a game state in which equilibrium is achieved so that there is no point making further progress in the game? If so, how long?
The devs answered this earlier stating, if I recall correctly, the game ends once you build a castle which they figure can be done in 10-15 hours of gameplay (I have to assume they're counting active playtime and not periods of rest you might take to get more building drops).
I guess the one positive about this game-corrupting bug I ran into is that I now have decapitated workers wandering around my empty kingdom.
Not too shabby for a buck. Ha, ha! Maybe you discovered an Easter egg like in the old 2600 Adventure game.
Puzzle Craft will keep you occupied for a very long time. Even with $99 worth of IAP, I don't see you completing within the hour.
Yeah -- the more I play it, the more I like it. It's a bit of a grind for sure, but not really in a bad way -- you always have a nice carrot that's tempting you to play just one more round
Since nobody finished and wrote about it, well... take a guess. I suspect there's not much of a replayability, but on the other hand... I don't expect 15 hrs of fun AND full replayability for a lousy buck. edit: oh, and I just got it. The riddle is solved. IAP = I Am Paranoid.
More Dungeon Raid-style puzzle gameplay with Triple Town-style combo system that offers growth similar (though abbreviated) to The Settlers. Tack on beautiful artwork, relaxing music, and an all around slick presentation for a buck...and you get "awesome."
To me what makes this game "awesome" instead of "cool" is how everything counts. Every upgrade has an impact that can be noticed by the player. You are constantly trying to get that new building, or that new worker, or that tool. Not because it is a fancy new thing that will make your town prettier (that too), but because it matters gameplay wise. So, you are always being rewarded, from a visual/progression perspective as well as a gameplay perspective. Also, there's some depth involved in how you manage your resources. Do I go for that bulding that stop the wolves from attacking my animals, do I stock up on tools or do I hire a worker that will make mining/farming a little more effective? Granted, it's not a terribly deep game, but it has just enough to make the experience more compelling.
I just somehow lost my save file. And now when I try to continue, it shows speech bubble with "empty string". I was like level 15 too
