I want to download apps and games I bought before onto my iPod again, because I restored it. It worked all the time before, but right now when I went to download it again it didn't tell me "...Do you want to download this app again for free...". It charged me. I'm signed in my iTunes account, which I used to purchase the apps before.

What the heck is wrong? I contacted Apple about this, but they didn't reply.

I have a bunch of good games I'd like to download the updates to.

give me an example of an app. Some A**hole devs re-release their games and if you re-download you have to pay again. But this is only some games.

Did you get them recently? Sometimes, the receipt takes a couple days to show up. Maybe you already purchased them but iTunes is just now confirming that.

Do they actually do that on purpose? I only know Critter Crunch did that, and that was because they switched publishers. Man, that's just cheap.

Gameloft did that for their Christmas calendar app, which actually makes sense because it's one of those apps that you buy for a special occasion then delete and after a year download again. But yeah, some devs do that, isolated cases mostly though.

If you redownload an app you own a pop up should appear saying that you already brought this app and you can download it again, if you don't get that message then somehow you are rebuying the app, either from a republished app or something extremely similar :(
