Hey guys, I came across some extra Punch Quest images. Some appear to possibly be from the upcoming update or something in the future, while many others are from early builds. Enjoy!

**EDIT** So this is the new boss from Spartan Mode, "Gnorb". Not sure how many people have bought it yet since it is a bit pricey at 250,000 punchos but he looks pretty cool.

This guy is labeled as "Slug Boss". Appears to be just concept art for a potential new boss. Maybe we'll see him in action someday.

These screens show boxes for "pets". We've all read talk of a possible pets update but I believe this idea was canned awhile back. The images look like older builds so I believe the pets idea was killed. However, I would love to see some pets in the future.

This one is a screen showing what appears to be a rainstorm of skulls. This looks likely to just be a screen of a demo.

The rest of these pics are all from early builds. I think it's pretty cool to see where PQ was compared to how it is today.

You went through Madgarden's "Junkz" folders! Ooooh you're in trouble now, Wicked. :p

I browsed it a while back ago. MG has a TON of really cool pics there, possibly from old scrapped projects.

Gnorb is actually in the game.

I just got him in the last hour on spartan mode. I hit level 18 and had collected 7 tablets, and then all of a sudden the music changed and i went into this "lair" type area.

Gnorb talks for a moment and goes on about how he is gonna give you a gift. But like a moron, I had no life left and was mashing on the attack buttons, and he went all agro on me and it turned into a boss. Sadly, i died cuz had no life. :(

Oh man. Weird how no one had posted that before. I still haven't purchased Spartan Mode yet so I have not run into Gnorb.

Yeah, I went through the Junkz folder. Props to you for going through it and staving off the temptation to post everything. I am sure they appreciate it.

No point in buying a punchos doubler now. Even with one, the prices have become INSANE. Hadn't played this much...just wasn't as enthused with it as others have been. Having said that...I guess it's buy coins or delete now. And. I. Don't. Buy. COINS!.

Should have just charged up front for the game. Or at least keep stuff under 50 freaking thousand coins! The new mode should just be a one time iap instead of 200k coins.

I'm inventing a new ios-related verb - This game got Dead Triggered.

I'd love to hear from kepa on this. There are many of us who have been very, very loyal to this game. We have spent an embarrassing amount of money to give back to the game.

Now the game isn't about the challenge, it seems to be about the grind. This never felt like a grind before, never. But now? Finishing a game and getting what, a few thousand, maybe, punchos does what? 250k to unlock a new mode, 200k for a special hat. 80k for a reroll that might give you a crappy ability you already have.

But I'm willing to give the powers that be the benefit of the doubt. Can you help those of us who are not gods at the game enjoy it again and not grind?

We'd have to try a lot harder to approach Dead Trigger or Glu levels.

What do you think a good max price would be for an item? We're also bumping up Gnome rewards and adding a daily coin thing that will give up to 10,000.

Is there a prestige mode like jetpack joyride or once you hit cap it's over?

I dont mind the price of the belts, because their abilities are really strong and they really add to the gameplay. Also, its not random, u know what yer getting and can see how much it costs. But, now that i think of it, the belts should all just cost 250k, keeping the same order that u currently have to buy them in (i.e, cant immediately buy the disco dunk).

I do think ultra hats with abilities, cuz they are random, should go down to 50k each. Just thinking about it, im really thinkin that i want the food powerup on a hat. But every reroll has a chance of 1/8 to get the hats( or slightly worse, forgot how many level 1 powers there are). Chances are u have to reroll at least 4 times if yer lucky (and likely more) that means at least an investmnt of 200k at 50k a pop (currently this scenario would cost 400k). I think 50k is reasonable here, 100 really stretches it out.

These are just thoughts cuz u asked, i could be really wrong, but i have a punchis doubler and it takes awhile to even get 50k. Please remember to let the punchos doubler double the bonus end coins in the new mode.

Regardless, i do just love playing the game. Thinking of strategies to overcome enemy types and finding small little hidden content really adds to the whole experience. More please! :)

I think 100,000 is a good threshold for something expensive. It will take awhile to get there, but with gnomey rewards and buying the punchos doubler it is not too much grinding.

I'd still love to see you guys do something with the idols. I try to collect each one cause they are cool, although I'll never be able to get 16,000 of them. Maybe you can add a second currency and have a slot machine like in Street Fighter 4 for 3DS to get the rest? No one is going to get all 16,000+ except maybe one crazy person.

One entire 50lvl gnome cycle takes me 2 hours and with punchos doubler i get around 100K. That's too low if you consider the prices of the expensive items. At this rate i'll have to play 32 hours only to get all of the ultra hats, 5 hours for spartan mode and 44 hours for all the ultra belts. That's a total of 81 hours, you'll have to be highly motivated to put all that time in a game. I think that your most expensive item should cost about 2 times the entire cycle so 200K for all the belts and spartan mode. Ultra hats 1 cycle so 100k rerolls about 50K.

Take care of dogs & kick ass at games!
Maybe a a little more punchos per IAP?

I know quite a bit of people don't condone spending actual money, but maybe if the amount of punchos was well worth it, they'd spring for it.
I mean it is actually currency and they are just "punchos" Kepa was handing em out for free at one point anyway when the issues were happening.

I'd like to add my 2 cents: The belts are way too expensive given the rate of currency accrual (especially without the coin doubler). Honestly, I'm not even motivated to buy a belt because it would take far too much of an investment of my time just for one belt. At the end of the day, this is just an auto-runner. I'm not willing to invest that much time into it, but I'd still like to be able to unlock some of the higher level stuff without grinding for 2 weeks.

So, I think you should either make the most expensive stuff 50K to 100K, and perhaps increase the currency accrual rate. Regarding IAP, I am reluctant to spend any money on your product because each update seems to dramatically change the value of the currency. Hopefully, the developers are getting close to finding that "sweet spot" for the cost of the various items and power-ups so that we players can have some certainty regarding the value of Punchos. Why spend $4.99 on punchos when the next update will come along and change the cost of certain items?

Punch Quest is a great game at its core but its economy fluctuates too much from update to update for me to feel comfortable enough to spend real money. In sum, pick whatever values make sense for items and power-up and stick with them.

It's the whole "whatever values make sense" bit that isn't quite so easily determined... which is why we're tweaking it each update. But all the feedback is good.

Point taken. I reread my post and its tone is a bit harsh. I'm going to leave it unedited so others can read it. Let me be clear: Punch Quest is an AWESOME game. I truly enjoy playing it. It's just that the game's economy creates a bit of a conundrum for me: Do I grind for weeks to get the items I want? Or do I spend real money on Punchos when a subsequent update will change the value of certain items and power-ups? I understand that this whole process is an inexact science.

But maybe take a look at a game like Major Mayhem? In that game, the most expensive IAP provides enough currency to unlock darn near every gun and outfit, with some money to spare for consumables. So perhaps, irrespective of how you decide to price things, consider making your most expensive IAP provide enough Punchos to unlock everything, from the Spartan mode to the various items. While consumables would still require some extra grinding. I would drop $20 on Punch Quest if I could be certain that it buy me enough punchos to unlock everything except consumables.

Something powerups etc to help with difficulty would be appreciated. If the idea is most games don't go past level 13-15 then it's fine - but I find myself, even after 6+ hours of in game time unable to get much past 15. I think 16 is my highest, and in the 12 range is normal. Difficulty spike is crazy when it kicks in and I die quickly once level 10 is reached. Do I just suck?

I had the same problem until i was able to combine hungry man and dull pain having shield breaker and thunderpunch is also a big plus. Now i get to 20 each round.. Try to get all upgrades they help a lot too especially hat of scrifice, hat of retribution and hat of last hope and everything that makes your super ultra.
