I hope that does help shed some light. Although I've gotten that bug on mediocre runs as well. Hey, a few questions for you seeing as you're pretty badass at reaching those high levels: What's your punching strategy? You take it slow? How long does the combo timer last between punching? Is it only reset if I'm hit? Or does it reset if I take too long between attacks? Coz I can't get past level 19. Thanks!
Absolutely love Punch Quest. I'm not much of a gamer on iOS, but I'm addicted to this game. I think I'm 5 on the leader board in all time kills. One thing I noticed since the last update is that Drillin' Punch only counts as uppercuts and slams for the quest. Dash and jab hits don't seem to count. I'm fine if that's the idea, but the description of it doesn't explain that qualification like some other power-ups (Exploding Fist, for instance).
Maybe if you're placed on the local scoreboard at all? Ehh, I don't know. Anyways, I don't take it slow, I go at a speed the game was meant to be played in. I recommend Thunderpunch and Shieldbuster (I take back what I've said in the past about shieldbuster - it's great). For the Power I skill, I would recommend quick slam or hungry man, but ironically that level 24 run was with flyin' fist, which I thought was a terrible skill. Don't underestimate getting high combos, those really matter. Combos get reset if you're hit OR if you take too long between attacks. Good luck! That last run put me in 84th place globally.
The straight punching glitch happened again. I made sure to try to block, and I couldn't. After I tried blocking a few times, and here's the strange thing, I could throw straight punch, but I couldn't upper cut or slam. So, it's not just straight punches. This happened after I popped out of an egg, I think.
Yup. I got that today too. Well, something similar. I could straight punch, and making sure I was with both feet on the ground and not in midjump, I tried to uppercut and my guy just stood there as if I wasn't pressing anything (I was tapping the uppercut button multiple times at that moment). It was after I pressed the dash punch, that the uppercut button started to register my input again.
Hmm, OK... I will try to force this situation somehow and see what could be getting stuck (still can't reproduce). Is there any lag or framerate variation when this happens? And it seems like when one punch is stuck, throwing the other one unsticks it?
Yep, that's what's happening in my case. Uppercut gets unresponsive and dash punch unsticks it. I've never had the problem with dash punch, but uppercut happens every once in a while. I've noticed frame rate drops in the game from time to time, but what I haven't noticed is if following those drops sticks the uppercut. I'll try to reproduce it and notice any details I've missed. Thanks, MG.
Question how does one get their scores on the leaderboard because i got nothing on where i should be on gamecenter scores.
30+ hours logged in this game, been trying to get the 200 combo for a while now (best was 175). Finally broke down and bought 10 of the Insta-Brawls - at around the 9th one I managed to fluke a 317 combo! This game is just way too good
Ultra hat achievements I've got the same issue. All ultra hats plus even a 50k bonus after they ran out. It seems like the named idol one will take a crazy amount of playing to hit if the 12 are essentially random out of the 4,000+ options. I love the game and have been very generous to the devs who deserve the appreciation. I'm currently number #93 in combo, #23 in score, and #9 in total. 2 feedback points I hadn't seen mentioned (at least recently): 1) Consider combo multipliers post 30x. As far as I can tell a 300x combo will score the same as 10 30x combos. While it's best to combine them all together to prevent small low-scoring combos I'm generally willing to avoid an especially risk situation that ends a combo because the risk of a hit doesn't make it worth it. 2) A simple help system. The floating gnome heads are really useful but there are some references in quests, achievements, etc. that aren't obvious. I had to look around on the web to find out about the named idols. I had originally thought that maybe the statues were named idols and I had to get 12 of them in one run. Ultra vs. super and hat re-rolls are other examples.
One other idea to add to my post above. Consider adding some more defensive skills. Maybe one that protects just from zombie blast or another that protects feet from spikes and fire, etc. The zombie blasts are my Achilles' heal because I often set them off from a distance with Thunderpunch.
Yeah we could have used a better help system given the game's complexity. We're not going to add more points for combos past 30, it's like that intentionally. I hate games where, if you drop a long combo, it takes like 2 minutes to get back to where you were. It makes never dropping a combo so important, that you get to the point where you may as well hit restart if you drop your combo. It's an asinine system, and I see it used way too often. Defensive skills: Originally we had more of these. We got rid of them because we thought they weren't exciting. Maybe we'll add them back as expensive powers. Bam Grief can save you from zombie blasts, but this isn't obvious enough right now, I think.
Discocut, Discodunk and Airwolf can also save you from zombie explosions. Airwolf and Bam Grief both have brief invulnerability at the start of the move. The disco moves are invulnerable the whole time they are discoballin'.
What's the best way to deal with megaton zombies? They take quite a beating and a lot of the times I'm always short of killing them before they explode. And when they're in clusters, it's guaranteed I won't come out unscathed. Should I just avoid them? Coz engaging them always ends bad for me.
I find that Discocut + Knuckle Circle is one of the best offensive-defense combinations... if that makes sense. I personally can't live without Discocut, you can get out of so many sticky situations with it. If you have Knuckle Circle active, your chances of getting hit are pretty slim (if you play it right). Round that out with some Big Dash and you have easily my favorite loadout.
I just graduated my first Gnomie. He said I had a hat waiting for me, but I looked under Store/Customize/Hat-Face, and I can't find it. My character doesn't appear to be wearing a hat, either. Help me find my hat, please?
