I accidentaly get the game when it was free on a alt acc of mine who cant get IAP's, so if i want to support the devs getting the doubler or donating a buck i will have to buy the game again? Not that was a problem, but if i do this i will not get a cool mysterious item...
kwijibogus, it's OK any IAP will give you a mystery item, it doesn't matter if you downloaded it for free initially. You won't have to buy/redownload it or anything.
No, i know that, but my game is from a different appstore of my main account ( i got too lazy for logout at that time), so i cant buy iaps on it. So if i want to buy i will have to get it again on my main acc.
This game man... There is something stupidly addicting about it. I dont know if its the idol hitting or the chest hitting or those bats carrying the bags you hit or what. But I played this like every day since release, its that addicting. Then you have the quests to go after and the skills and hats! Wow is all I can say.
This is super weird, I just opened Punch Quest to play a couple rounds, and all the stuff I've unlocked is gone... They're all locked again as is I've never bought them! Kinda depressing...
Come on guys. I love this game too. But you're kind of asking for it by playing the game before the bug patch is submitted despite knowing about the devastating problem. Another thing would be if you were completely unaware of the bug. And it makes no sense getting angry with the dev and threatening to delete the game coz it keeps deleting your stuff. The game is still bugged! Things like this happen and are always an accident. And it's not like the devs are twiddling their thumbs while the bug is creating all that grief. I want to get back to playing PQ as much as the next guy; but I don't wanna risk losing my hard earned hats. I just paused playing it, with the certainty that all my progress is safe and awaiting the patch. But it's necessary to show some gratitude for their game and their hard work by exercising some patience.
Wait... There was a bug?!? Sh*t, I wish I would've known about it!!! This is what I get for not reading this thread enough...
Yeah man. That's been the hot topic for a while now. Use the support email insid the game. Kepa's gonna hook you up with some punchos I think.
Yeah, there's a mystery data loss issue. So far I haven't found anything in the code that would cause it, but I have spent a lot of effort on making a redundant save and recovery mechanism. Also, it will now save your ultrahats to the cloud, not just ultra prizes. The worst part of it is I've never been able to cause it to happen on my iPad3, no matter how hard I beat on the game by pausing, resuming, killing, re-loading, etc. etc. Heh. ninjackid, try doing the cloud sync in the OPTIONS menu to get your items back.
Darn! And cloud sync didn't work... Maybe because I'm still running iOS 4.3 so I don't have cloud yet?
For some reason after I downloaded the game there are no quests available? Do I have to unlock them somehow?
I really hope you get the save bug fixed. Luckily I haven't had the bug happen to me. Possibly you guys should revert the patch? Just a suggestion until you get it fixed. Also, the jab punches not responding is a serious issue, and it's completely unrelated to blocking, because I was not blocking at all when I was trying to get the jabs to work.
Yeah, no that's also a bug. Just exit and restart, it should fix itself. Fixed for update. Not going to revert nothin', going to fix stuff and move forward. It's the only path to true PUNCHING. And... what jab punches not responding? Give me more specific details on what you're doing, what you're expecting to happen, and what is actually happening.
The right button stops responding inexplicably (dash bunches, jabs), but the left button works great (uppercut, slam). I don't know anything that I'm specifically doing that triggers the bug. After the few seconds when the right side was completely unresponsive, it started working again, but it still felt like it was slightly messed for the rest of that run.
PM me if you were having saved data issues before, or other bugs. Even if you already sent an email to support. I'd like to get more testers for the saved data fix we submitted. Twiddle: I don't think you can revert updates. Send me a PM, too, no idea what issue you're having.
Looking through this thread I see very little discussion on strategy, tips and loadouts, for such a highly played game and 150 pages of posts I'd thought there would be more so I guess I'll get the ball rolling. The most important thing to remember is knowing how to play and tackle the various enemies in the game which is far more important than picking a good loadout. But once you know how to play picking a good loadout is key to getting a high score So let's start MOVES: Jab: Weak attack witn short range thats great for helping to build combos but when spammed can get you in a lot trouble. Dash Punch: Strong attack with more range that gives a lot of forward momentum. Good for killing stronger enemies but you can be vulnerable inbetween punches Uppercut: Great move that's let's you take out airborne enemies and interrupt enemy attacks. Has a sort horizontal range so requires precision Slam: Powerful finisher that has a lot of range, great for handling tricky enemies, gettinh back on yhe ground whilst carrying on combos. Block: Stops nearly all kinds of damage apart from spikes on the floor and exploding zombies I believe. Only downside is that it breaks your combo. ENEMIES: Red skeletons are notoriously good at catching you every time you come up against one. Best way to tackle them is to be moving at high speed, this way you can just jump over them, dash punch through them. Alternatively you can jump early and slam down to the ground quickly to make them whiff their jump and then kill them or go under them. You can also block if your not feeling confident but you'll lose your combo. Exploding Zombies in bunches can be tough since no matter how fast you try to kill them one always seems to get you. You can uppercut them out way hopefully exploding a safe distance from you and killing other enemies carrying on your combo. Squids and bats and harmless enough, along you don't leave it too late to uppercut them. I like uppercuting early and hitting them with jabs and slams so they hit other enemies carrying in combos Orcs with shields need to be uppercut so you can expose there weak bellies, just watch out for their axe swings. You may need to jump over a few or block if you get up with a bunch of tightly packed orcs. Avoid the orcs with spike shields unless your rocking shieldbuster. Wraiths, probably the most annoying enemies in the game. I try to avoid them when possible, elreflecto and ki blast are the best powers for dealing with them. Other than that the best way of getting them is with the slam due to its long reach. Uppercuting is tempting but required great timing. BOSSES: Cyclops, by far the easiest boss and can be killed in a single combo if your on level Plane. Just punch him in the belly when starts his attack uppercut and punch him in the eye the go back to belly punches and repeat. Extendable fist thing, is easy asking as long as you block his attacks. In between attacks jump uppercut early slam it's top, which can be quit tricky since he moves around alot, just be patience and wait for the best opportunities. Skull, probably the hardest boss. To kill him you need to uppercut him when his jaw is open. I always seem to get hit if I go for him when I see his jaw open for the first time so I let it close and wait for it to open a second time. When you do hit him right he will release some glowing skulls which can hurt you. You can punch these away or spikily just avoid them. COMBOS: Maintains large combos is the most important thing when trying to get high scores. They also lock you in the level your in at the moment the combo started avoiding harder groups and combinations of enemies for longer. Best way of marinating large combos is by not blocking, and making sure you hit nearly every enemy and item on screen. Slams and dash punches will make a lot of enemies hit other enemies. Getting the ultra master upgrade is vital once you get good at doing 60+ hit combos since your next super will be an ultra which means it will be easy getting another 60+ combo which means more ultras. Also doing long combos means you go up levels faster which means you get more health back. EGGS: These are by far the most important things to try and go for, since during an egg phase you won't take damage and if you do well can restore plenty of health but they can be tricky. The laser raptor is the easier of the two I find, just watch out for spikes and boulders and blast away. The longer you hold uppercut the longer you will stay in the air, so use this to negotiate tricky spikes. Also holding down punch will give you an endless laser. Gnome egg phase is much trickier. Try to maintain a combo with jumpin around to make yourself move faster and less vulnerable to the wasps. LOADOUTS: I was going to go through every power but how effective each one is really depends on your overall loadout. So I'm just gonna write down some general thoughts and finish with my favourite loadout. Try to find synergy in your powers so your maximising each powers effectiveness, some examples could be highercut and discocut. Since your spending more time in an uppercut animation being invulnerable during it could be a good idea. If your going with husk mask maybe picking ki chain would be good since your able to tackle bunched up enemies better. Big dash and big wallop could work since your moving so much faster you don't want to get bogged down by bunches of enemies so the harder punches will come in handy. Flying fist and disco dunk, staying in the airbus great for avoiding tough enemies but you'll need to return to the ground eventually do why not be invulnerable when you do it with discodunk. Most supers are awesome in this game and most work with all powers combinations but I find overall the best ones are shodoken since this gives you some long range attacks and keeps you out of harms way. Knuckle circle since this just smashes everything out of your way, and deadplosion or thunder punch for taking out extra enemies and carrying in combos. Getting an ultra hat with a bonus level 1 power is important too adding just a little more to your arsenal, like say adding quick slam with flying fist and instead if using disco dunk use disco cut which means your invulnerable getting into the air but when you wanna comedown youll do so quickly and then can go straight into another invulnerable uppercut. Theres tonnes of effective combination so experiment for yourself and seer what you get. My personal favourite loadout at the moment is Hungry man, more health keeps me alive for longer Dull pain (hat skill ) often when you get hit you get hit a couple of times in quick succession so this also keeps me alive for longer Elreflecto hitting back fireballs is good for tackling the those Nast wraiths letting keep my combos going Knuckle fist, I love how this hits everything I go through and whilst I don't get my biggest combos I always seem to hit that magic 60 + hits on my combos so I get plenty of ultras. With this loadout I got 388000 points my highest to date but I know I can do better. Anyway that's it I hope this collection of thoughts helps others to get better at this amazing game, since it took ages to write since I'm writing this on my phone and hopefully also inspires others to post what they know too. Laters P.S I'd like to apologise for any spelling and grammatical errors writing this much on a phone is hard :/
My blocking issues are gone after the last updated, i use "strict blocking now" and so far there never was a block which wasn't intended - thank you! However i still got similar problems like you - especially when i am long in game, level 13 and above, it happens to me that i press uppercut, but he keeps on dashing. Second issue that also happens to me is, i press uppercut and then dash, but instead of dashing it does another uppercut...pretty strange. I use an ultra hat with "big dash" on it - maybe it has something to do with this?!
It seems to me like when the screen starts to get filled, it starts queuing my taps. If I start spamming my button taps it won't stop when I stop, it keeps on punching one or two more times. Is this what everyone else is talking about when they're talking about 'unresponsive buttons'?
