What a great game, Im loving every minute of it! I cant wait for the next big update, the content for a game like this is amazing. That aside, does anyone have any specific builds that can go past level 15 or 16? I cant seem to get past those levels. Also im stuck on the quest that you have to kill 200 enemies on game. Any help would be appreciated.
Well to be honest any build can get past level 15 but if you're having trouble you could try a "defensive" build like Hungry Man/Shieldbuster or El Reflecto/Shodukin. If you have trouble with traps you could try a "flying" build with Flying Fists and Hyper Fighting wich allows you to fly over flames and spike traps and also tougher enemies.
Ugh, just hit a nasty bug. My iPad version just got reset - punchos, special hats, color settings, equipped items, and quests (so purchases are ok) all reset. Of all of those, the only thing I really care about is the punchos - I lost about 10-20k. My special items didn't have any skills on them, and the rest are easy enough to redo. The punchos though will probably take me 2-3 hours to recover. Sure glad I didn't have any really good hats - then I would have been really unhappy. I'm not sure what happened. I went to play tonight, and the first thing I did was a cloud sync. I think it said 1 item was retrieved (not sure what though since I didn't buy anything when I was playing on my iPhone today - but maybe an achievement?). Then I played and everything was reset.
As someone else mentioned, getting past level 15 is possible with any build, but I personally use "Quick Slam", "Steam Buster" (yes, it's actually quite good), and the new "Thunderpunch" move. I've found myself getting up to about level 18 with this build. Chiller offers great advice, and really, you just need to find a build that suits your play style and abilities.
I'm looking into this save data issue... use the SUPPORT button to report any details you can think of. It's been hard to track down as the saving is pretty simple stuff. Twiddle, yeah I think people overlook Steambuster because it's the first POWII skill, but... it has some uniquely useful properties. The more powerful uppercut is one thing, but the steambusted enemies flail around and can rack up some higher combos as they smash into other things repeatedly... not to mention hanging around so you can often punch them a few extra times.
Yeah, Steam Buster is definitely an undervalued skill. Some people mentioned using the power slam for the "15 torches in one game" quest, but hitting a torch with a correctly timed uppercut with steam buster is about as effective as quick slam in my opinion. I personally find Shieldbuster to be a waste of a skill. While it might work well for people that have difficulty versus the spike shielded orcs, I uppercut any orcs with a wooden shield to open them up, then just bash them up. I REALLY like the idea of giving idols a more significant place in the game. I accidentally stumbled upon the idols statistics, and I thought it was really cool that there were thousands of different combinations of randomly generated idols throughout the game. If you could turn that into something that would be amazing! And the nomenclature system is quite hilarious as well. I just thought of something, if you get every combination of a certain type of idol, like all the "ook"s, maybe you get some kind of unlock? Like an "Ook" mask? The combinations are endless, if you could make an idol mask based off of every idol types you unlocked! It's kind of difficult what I have imagined, but I'll try: The nomenclature system works like this: "X" "Y" "Z". If the idol was "Dapper Wus Ook", then X=Dapper, Y=Wus, Z=Ook, right? So, let's just say you have all of the "Z" value of "Ook". In that case, the "Z" value of "Ook" is unlocked, and can be used as a part of an idol mask/face. Then, if you have all the "X" values of "Dapper" unlocked and all the "Y" values of "Wus" unlocked, then you can use those in combination with the "Z" value of "Ook" to make a "Dapper Wus Ook" mask/face. Even if you had only 5 values of "X", 5 of "Y", and 5 of "Z", you would have a total of 125 different idol mask/face combinations. That customization is crazy! The replayability would soar! I don't even know how the material of the idol would play into the whole thing, though. And having the electric squids not break combos is a really odd design choice, but I'm not complaining. I'm curious as to how that happened in the first place, though.
Hey! That exact sentence has been my iTunes review of the game since version 1.0! Either we have scarily similar minds or you're (sub)consciously paying tribute to one of my finer AppStore moments. Rock.
I used to think Shieldbuster was useless too but imo its very underrated. Nothing more frustrating than having your awesome 100+ combo messed up by a shield wielding blorc! Give it a try you might be surprised.
The game is really well made, great job. Don't know why the Rocketcat/Madgarden hats were removed though, was following Rocketcat on twitter up until release and I remember reading that there wasn't going to be any early buyers exclusives.
That's pretty hilarious. I recognize your name from somewhere. Did you post a lot in the Hook Champ thread or something?
Yeah, I was pretty active in the HC and Super QuickHook threads. I'm curious to hear back from hellokitt re: that sentence. Personally fascinating...
Obviously no disrespect to you guys, I loved the game. But when I put some decent cash into it just for it to erase everything twice. I don't see a point in trying anymore.ha I really hope you guys figure out what's going on though, wish you the best.
Is that save bug something that comes up on first launch post update or can it affect users at random moments? Coz I haven't had that problem at all since the update and I've been playing just fine, but if I'm at risk of getting it I might just pause from playing it till its solved? Could it be iCloud related? Coz I don't use that. I only play on my phone and nothing else.
No I only play on my phone as well, and it does happen randomly because its happened to me twice already. I suggest you do hold off because it will erase everything. Gnomey lvls & ultra hats included.
Data loss bugs are super annoying to hunt down, good luck with that one. Maybe I should set up a cloud backup just in case. I just ran into a pretty minor quest bug. I started a round with "Use 10 SUPER moves" at 0/10, "Punch 2 eggs" at 1/2, and 50 hit combo. I finished the round with 6 super moves, 2/2 eggs, and a combo larger than 50. My replacement quests were "Use 5 SUPER moves" and "punch 2 food items". Also, and here is the bug finally, my count for the 10 super moves was reduced to 0/10.
ugh just tried playing now and all my data was erased! Punchos, ultra hats, everything! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
