Game Center sync doesn't seem to be working for me between my iPhone (my primary Punch Quest device) and my iPad. Every time I hit sync it tells me that it found 0 new items; is there something else I need to be doing? Does the sync require iOS 6 perhaps?
i was holding off on getting any IAP because it didn't seem to be syncing my games between my iphone and ipad, but i decided to just stick with playing on my phone (since i'll have it with me more often). dropped $5 on it, and haven't looked back. i am, however, clueless when it comes to the dinosaur and gnome minigames. i mean, i play them sometimes, and i hit stuff...but i just die after a short while, and continue on. is there anything to this? that, and i can't break 15 candles in one go! my best is 12, and i had to really try and stop myself in front of every candle so i could to an uppercut and down punch on it.
Power slam and/or exploding fist make that challenge a lot easier. Still requires you to be conscious of the goal and go out of your way to break torches, but makes breaking them much more reliable.
I think the mini games simply serve as a pleasant break between beat-downs. As for the torches... EXPLOSIVE FIST. Kills them in one hit. Between Supers also block (to stop) and then Uppercut+Slam combo them. It seems that only explosive fist works once you get deeper in the dungeon. EDIT: corrected spelling.
Also I just like flying saucers. TheSporkWithin, it's not GC sync, it's iCloud sync... have to make sure you have iCloud enabled, and iCloud backup for punchquest.
SWEET! Just got my first special hat "basic horse head of flash" it just looks like the normal horse head hat but it has a flashing eye Love this game.
For the laserraptor you can jump and blast lasers down (force of lasers helps you float) Or blast lasers forward (hold for infinite fire) I like to jump and blast lasers forward to clear a path. Remember that the lasers stop as soon as you hit the ground, so tap and hold again to keep firing. This let's you focus on the spikes The gnome spins up, spins down on a 2nd left tap, and spins forward on a right tap. The gnome stops being invincible before the end of the move so it is NOT recommended to spin into wasps. If you do want to go on the attack make sure to follow up a spin with another to change direction quickly and stay invincible. I use it to slow the games pace down so I can be ready for the next area (and hopefully heal at least a half heart)
The gnome's spin is actually active for the whole spin, BUT... the way hits work is there is a cooldown period after you land one, so you have to time your hits as well as being accurate. Try to take out two wasps at once near the start of a spin, or spin and hit near the END of the spin so you can spin again immediately for more hits.
I have iCloud backup enabled on both devices, and Punch Quest is set to sync on both, but the iPad still isn't inheriting my unlocks from the iPhone version. I've tried deleting my iPad's iCloud backup, deleting and reinstalling Punch Quest, and a bunch of other things. I'm really stumped here.
Me too... it's just simple key/value iCloud data, but some people seem to have been having the same problem. Will investigate this more.
Hey, I unlocked the 200 hit combo achievement, I was connected to GC but had bad cell service at the time, even on the leaderboard it claims I have highest hit combo of 206, is there anyway you can have it so that it checks that to give you the achievement? Also how do you get the one that tells you to block infront of a spike wall and then let go... I keep trying to no avail.
Hey, thanks for this great game, can't wait for some updates to spend a little more cash on it. I bought a special hat, but I do prefer buying a few bonuses that improve the game or at least give a feeling of empowerment (actually I prefer paying the whole game at once but I understand it's not the best model on phones). My 2 cents: like many others, I would gladly pay for a coin doubler. If you fear it breaks the balance at the beginning of the game (buying 20.000 punchos does too), why not unlock it after the first lvl 50 gnome? At this point of the game I had unlocked about 3/4th of the gameplay upgrades and wouldn't have minded getting the most expensive ones quicker (which I did by buying a hat, actually). And 2 more cents: I really like the possibility of combining powers offered by ultra hats (and I'm probably not the only one). I just got my first one by reachig lvl 100 and of course it does not have any extra skills. So I guess I'm back on quests to get another hat or get enough punchos to reroll this one. What I want to say is, it's a really tempting part of the game, but feels incredibly restrictive because you have to wait for ages to get just one extra random bottom tier power. Having other equipment parts giving lvl 2 powers, or even having up to 3 lvl 1 and lvl2 powers, and having to play to earn such equipment until you find the perfect combination, Diablo lite Style, now that would keep me hooked for ages and happily spending money from time to time. Just a personnal opinion of course Oh and pets, I don't know what they will do, but if they are even remotely useful I will be glad to buy them (I would prefer them to be pretty useful though, they might as well to amke an enjoyable purchase!) Again, congratulations for this game, the best "runner" I have played yet!
I understand this probably isn't terribly high priority, especially given the game's current financials, but if you do decide to try to figure it out and any of my device information could be helpful, let me know if there's any data that I could provide that might help. Also a side note: while a coin doubler seems very silly to me with the current price structure, an EXP doubler seems reasonable. Level your gnomeys faster, get more ultra hats.
I think there's a bug with powerups, since sometimes I walk right through them. On a more positive note, #20 on the charts!! Had an amazing run
Oka-mi, hint: It's called PUNCH QUEST, not WALKTHROUGH QUEST. ;P SirDarkened, added to my notes. poulpater, a lot of what you describe is coming in the updates to follow (if we do well enough to continue).
suggestion to the devs: when you complete a quest in-game and pause the game, please let it show that it's marked off, like with a checkmark or a highlight of some sort
