I haven't gotten to that "rerolling" hat part some are talking about. What does that mean? Is that a type of upgrade? Thank you!
The last two upgrades (for 13000 total) you get the ability to "re-roll" an Ultra hat for 50,000 and that gives you a different hat with a different effect. Now, I found a pretty serious, but utterly random bug. It only happened twice to me now, where the quests completed aren't awarded at the end of a game, but instead are reset to 0. Second time it happened, I got all 3 missions and the first was awarded, but the counters for the second and third were reset to 0. That was rather annoying, since one was the "destroy 40 hallucinations" mission. It may or may not be related to me tapping furiously on the screen, as though one would to skip awarding of the quests. (guess I did that, didn't I?)
Thanks! I'm sure that question had been answered many times already, but with such a hot thread, every time I come to it there are like 7 new pages! xD Thanks to everyone else who also takes the time to answer questions instead of referring a user 20 pages back! haha
**I actually was typing while playing and made a mistake - it's a different special EFFECT you get, not a quest. Sorry. >_<
No worries. I've got a long way to go to get such hat. So you get an ultra hat from completing the gnome quests. That hat is imbued with a special effect. You "re-roll" to get another affect on it or another hat with a different effect? After you complete the gnome quests, are there more gnomes to level up? Is there a set amount of quests or are they a huge amount like the idols? (I read somewhere that the idols to collect are around 16,000!)
That's happened to me several times too. It only seems to occur if I've completed more than one quest in one round, and I always get the reward for the first one on the list, at least. You get a fresh ultra hat when you re-roll, so both the base hat and any adornments/effects are randomized. You may also get a free Tier 1 power built-in to the hat, if you have the right upgrade. There aren't that many quests, but they repeat endlessly (or possibly just until you reach the Ultra Hat limit). There are indeed more (*)nomeys to level up, but they're all identical except for their first line, ending cutscene, and dialogue box color.
I think the maximum amount of ultra hats you can get is 8, pretty sure I read that in one of the hints somewhere. Not sure what happens once you reach that, but so far once you level up a Gnomey to 100, you get a new one. The quests are limited and after you complete them all once, it seems like they are pooled and chosen at random. You can re-roll hats as long as you have the money and want to get a better effect. As for the idols... I have 202.
Looking back at previous posts, it seems there are 4096 idols for each material(bronze, silver, gold, platinum). That's 16^3, so I'm guessing the idols contain every possible combination of top, middle, and bottom segments from the 16 "pure idols." That would explain what a pure idol is. What it does not explain is how anyone is supposed to locate 16 specific idols out of 4,096. Hopefully you can't find duplicates of idols you already have.
I'm just getting started, but I've had this problem twice. Both times it was with the quest in the 3rd slot, and I think they were back to back. The first was the "use 5 Supers in a game", the second was "destroy 15 torches in a game." I ended up buying my way out of both. I didn't complete another quest simultaneously for either of the bugs, so I don't think that's the problem.
Thing is, I've completed multiple quests many times, even all 3 sometimes as well, but it doesn't always happen.
You mean the gnome that comes out of an egg? Where do I see his level or get to a stage where I can level him?
After you have completed a run, you will see the list of quests you have finished (if any). Once these are done, they will turn into experience and level up the gnomey right above the list. Once his level gets to 100, you get a new hat. Neat.
Yes, this bug... it happens when you furiously try to skip past the quests by clicking the invisible NEXT button that shouldn't be there, but actually is. WOOPS. It cuts short the quest finalization. This is fixed in update #2, which hasn't been submitted yet. So... try to just relax with the maniacal skipping action until then.
I've run some calculations, and assuming that idols you already have stop spawning, at my current idol collection rate it would take me approximately 11.1 days of nonstop gameplay to have a 50% of getting all the pure idols. This is also assuming I only find bronze idols; with the other types taken into account, this number is much higher. In other words, I really hope the probability of finding a pure idol is weighted somehow.
At your current Puncho collection rate how long would it take you to roll a Hat of Legend with Hungry Man or Husk Musk without using IAP?
Woah woah woah WOAH now! iphone 4S's are considered newer devices, right. I know I'm just being paranoid...gotta pick up a pack of cigs.
25 expected rerolls at 50,000 Punchos each, with a rate of about 23,000 Punchos/hour, should take about 54 hours.
