You might be helping out your friends but AFAIK you're not doing yourselves any favors. You've responded to this yourself: Assuming these were removed by IAP and not passed on to those that have already made IAP, that would make a lot more sense than spamming your game for free and losing loyal IAP fans in the process. IMO the high road would be to put more thought into making your IAP more attractive to Punch Quest IAP virgins.
I considered the high road as being the once-a-day unpaid banners and only for games we like. Always thought the "pay to remove ads" was more less blackmail. But hey, "buy IAP to stop seeing Clash of Clans ads" is actually easier for us to do, and way more profitable (more than zero). If people see that as the better way, then there's no real reason not to do it. Well, except for pirates shutting off the ads, but who cares.
And it absolutely is if it requires it's own individual purchase. If ad removal is included with any IAP however, I think it becomes a "Thank you very much" event. This makes a lot more sense to me. Anybody who picks up the game for free and makes zero IAP has no legs to stand on when it comes to complaining about ads (which these simple minded idiots do love to do ), you don't PO any of your existing IAP fans and you'll make some cash to keep the lights on in the office for a bit longer.
Hello friends. Loving the game and bought puncho doubler. I have a query. From the past couple of days I am not getting free 10000 punchos whcih I used to get earlier once a day. Is this a bug or have devs updated app and changed something? Thanks
Thanks! The social sharing reward turns off after something like 20 shares, and gets reset on the next update.
No reply? Some suggestion Some kind of slo mo power up wcich slows down the action Also can someone help me tackle treasure chambers With all the spike laden section it becomes really difficult What is a good combo for high score I mostly avg around level 13 with lbl 18 being highest and 2 lac my highest score in quest mode
In Treasure paths it's important to jump with good timing. Forget those enemies, just focus on getting out of it. A good combi for high score varies from one person to another. Whatever combi you use, get all the upgrades. All of them. The one that makes the hit that should kill you knocks your hat off instead is important, so is the one that gives you back your hat if you can make a 60-hit combo. Being able to maintain your combo is also a vital skill. Happy punching!
My favorite setup is: Ki Blast Ultra Hat Shield Breaker Ultra Belt Hungry Man Flying Turtle Thunder Punch With this I've gotten over 700,000 points in a run and had a 300+ combo, which isn't all that impressive but isn't that shabby either.
Gnorb aka Gnorbio I've reached Gnorb 7 times now and have beaten him the last three times in a row. I can't for the life of me however work out when he will show up. The Punch Quest wiki says after you reach 1,500 Punchos but as you can see that's bollocks! I know he shows up past a certain point in the next Dungeon Segment but does anyone know what that "certain point" is? Seems fairly random to me in my experience.
Someone in a different thread linked to this interesting article about F2P money making strategies. http://www.gamasutra.com/blogs/RaminShokrizade/20130626/194933/ Kind of spooky how the title could be "The Top Punch Quest Monetization Tricks." Devs are so cynical these days.
Punch Quest really isn't that bad - its strategies aren't coercive. You don't lose anything and nothing prevents you from progressing if you don't pay. Paying just speeds up getting to a goal. I personally don't like these types of coercive monetization strategies, but they are quite prevalent with both mainstream and indie developers alike.
Yeah I don't think that relates to Puch Quest at all. It's expensive straight off the bat and doesn't change.
Was that sarcasm? Anyway you don't seem to know about Punch Quest's rough early days. At launch its pricing was so generous, it was essentially a free game, not f2p. Since nobody felt the need to spend even a penny at all, the devs couldn't make a living out of it. They tried the $0.99 price tag but it was too late. It wasn't until they figured out the reasonable pricing for items and upgrades etc that Punch Quest started bringing in the green. NOW WHERE IS THE NEW CHARACTER? ^^
I spent quite some time on this game. Super-fun and instantly addictive. Fantastic take on the runner concept.
No, it wasn't. I completely forgot about Punch Quest's past. I'm only new to the game myself but I did previously read about it's history in regards to pricing etc. so my bad.
