I got quite far into the game and came across the light bridge puzzle. Unfortunately its impossible to solve as touch controls don't allow you to hold down the button. AVOID THIS GAME!
This version will be soon pulled from App Store anyway. I wish Disney made a remastered version of DIG as LucasArts did with Monkey Island
I wish they would remaster the remasters and stick them back on the App Store. I bought my first iDevice because of Secret of Monkey Island and Canabalt, and while I can say Canabalt has never ever left any of my devices, I wish I could say the same for MI.
Disgusting's a bit harsh, isn't it? Don't think he's too serious about the JB and pirating bit and I tend to agree with the rest. After all Disney won't port this anytime soon and the last Disney iOS games I played a while ago where blatant pay2win cash grabs (Where's my Water 2 and especially Frozen Free Fall) - Games designed with paywalls and/or such a hard difficulty at some point that paying substantial amounts becomes nearly mandatory. Who cares for providing fun with a game, when you rather can try to milk your players dry. That's more disgusting imo than some guy who made some copyright infringement to bring a classic to iOS. Not saying I agree with this tactic and common sense says the game won't survive the App Store too long anyway. But if Apple doesn't pay more attention it's their fault, isn't it? P. S.: It says Dema9o9ue is a Silver supporter here (as opposed to you ... Or me that is) so my first impression of him wouldn't be your "disgusting" run-of-the-mill pirate after all
Jeez, calm the hell down. LucasArts closed because near the end, their exec team(s) come up with a disastrous new strategy, crash and burn, and get replaced by another team and a new creative direction every other month. Disney just pulled the plug on its life support. It had been brain dead for years. Let's recall that Disney also allowed the release of Grim Fandango and Day of the Tentacle Remastered through Double Fine, and rightfully positioned them as premium products. There are legitimate reasons to distrust or dislike Disney, but the fall of LucasArts isn't one of them.
It should never have been able to go through Apples approval in the first place. It baffles me how some developers have to resubmit a number of times to uphold all guidelines (https://developer.apple.com/app-store/review/guidelines/), while stuff like this gets through.
Because Apple and the people working there have no clue that this game ever existed and think it's something new and original so they approved it. The guy pushing the button to approve or disapprove at Apple looks at his scripted sheet to make sure it does not violate any policies they came up with and if not hits OK. They don't have a scripted sheet that says check if this is the real developer of the actual game and not a rip-off.
Thanks, I'm not offended though. I buy more games and support more DEV's than the average gamer. I never hesitate to buy a premium game and I love it when an especially good game has iap. I will often buy them just to support the DEV. However, I have pirated many things in my life starting with movies and music. That is until the the official route of obtaining them is as easy or even easier than pirating them. For example, Spotify and now Apple music. I haven't pirated a song in years. Netflix, HBO NOW, iTunes, etc have curbed my movie and TV pirating almost completely. And as I said originally, if Lucas Arts created an official version I would buy it in a heartbeat. In fact I love the game so much I'd probably buy a few copies for my friends too that are so cheap they won't play anything other than F2P. If anything I hope this DEV selling copies of this game at this price shows that there is a demand for quality adventure games on iOS. So sad to hear about the light bridge puzzle though. I haven't gotten there yet. DEV, please update quick if this is true. Add a single virtual button.
Knowingly rewarding a developer for stealing someone else's intellectual party makes them an accessory to it, in my opinion. They are encouraging them to do it again and again. Meanwhile, people that are less knowledgable get duped into buying garbage. So, no, I don't think it is harsh at all. Of course, the most disgusting thing of all is that it was approved in the first place (as already mentioned).
Glad this has been pulled, but what happens to the money that the developer made off the initial sales?
