Since this was pulled and I never got to play PQ1, what makes it better than 2? It looks like the graphics at least are way more improved in PQ2. Also it seems PQ2 was supposed to be a lot more indepth with big maps and stuff - but maybe it wasn't? Just wondering if I should pick this one up.. EDIT: Doesn't look like it's on the USA appstore anymore..
PQ2 was a not-so great attempt to improve upon the original by adding dungeons and such that managed to make it feel like more of a slog fest because you had to fight the same enemies over and over again. There was some of that in the original, but much more so in the second. Moving around the dungeon levels didn't add anything to the core game other than tedium.
I'm so sad. I know want to download PQ2 again for the 4th time but the last 2 times I've tried it I get about a few hours in and get stuck at the black screen of death that they never fixed ):
You wold of had to already of downloaded the paid or the free version. They are listed as: Free version Puzzle Quest Paid version PuzzleQuest All IAP still work fine. The original is way better than the sequel in my opinion. The battles are faster and the map is a better design.
I'm confused. So you download the regular version of PQ1 and this app that says chpt 1 and 2 will appear on the app store after you buy said app? Actually I searched puzzle quest and puzzlequest on the app store and nothing shows. Only the sequel.
The only place you can download the game if you have already downloaded them before when they were in the App Store. They will be under purchased where updates are.
Decided to take a peek at the game since this thread resurfaced. Works smooth as silk on 12.9 pro with latest iOS.
If I'm not mistaken it still works great BUT you don't get sounds, just music. At least I do not hear the matching gems sounds. The game is still amazing of course, too bad I completed everything long ago.
A game released in '08 that's not even on the AppStore anymore is currently number one on the hot new games list. How cool is that? Wish the original developers could see this.
I got sounds after turning music off in the options. (iOS 10 beta) Didn't remember having bought this game but liking it now
They should bring it back. In my opinion it's the best match 3 game I've ever played, a timeless classic. I have completed it countless times and always come back for more. It's the first PuzzleQuest and it will always be the best.
this is weird, i've reinstalled my ipa backup and it says Puzzle Quest Ch.1 only (with 2 and 3 as IAPs), then i remembered that was the first version, pulled in those days. now searching on purchases i've found also Ch. 1-2 vesrion that i never backupped.
Yeah if I remember it got updated with both chapters due to negitive reviews at the time. People were not happy about IAP. The third chapter came out at a later date which included the expansions mission pack.
Nice had forgotten about this game. Was able to find it in my purchases and redownload it. Plays perfect on iPad Air 2 iOS 9.3.3
At least this has reminded me how great PQ is - managed to find PQ2 on my downloads list - it's not my favorite but it'll scratch that itch. Slightly confused though how has this appeared again? I don't remember a 1 and 2 package originally and I certainly don't remember chapter 3 existing even as iap....
