That is awesome that they did that. I can only imagine the smile that put on your face when you saw it. ^ ^
It looked exactly like that --> but without the green. P.S. I REALLY don't remember that from the first game.
I don't have a problem with a series. A single game would just mean I would have to wait a really long time just for it to load... every single time I exited to text or answer a call... no thanks On a different note, I can't play puzzlequest for more than a few minutes without getting a mind numbing headache. I thought the new update was supposed to help with the graphics. Unless they fix this version to be 100% playable they won't be getting any of my money until I play on someones device to ensure that I can actually read the text.
Yeah, I'm still getting some of that too, but it's much improved over what it had looked like. I've been sublimating my desires to go get Galactrix (which I'll have tomorrow) by playing this. Enjoying my Warlock so far.
I'm very tempted by this game because I loved the lite version, but I can't pull the trigger. The only thing holding me back is that it looks REALLY repetitive. Do the quests ever amount to more than go to X town kill X dude and get X item?
Well, as to quests, no. Sometimes you can make a decision whether to complete the quest going to one destination or another, but it isn't much. However, the "combat" gameplay gets ever more intricate and varied as you aquire new abilties and items and encounter similarly advanced enemies. There are some serious tactics involved at the later stages. Also, once you get access to your Citadel and upgrade it, you can capture enemies in special puzzle events, learn their spells in a different kind of puzzle challenge, make items in yet another kind of challenge, capture and train mounts (which give you a stat bonus and access to their signature spell), siege cities and get tribute from them (they can also eventually rebel), etc. So, there are tons of depth, if you enjoy the gameplay.
And the most important things about mounts - you can select NOT to fight monsters in the outside world with a level less than your mount.
The basic mechanism is always the same but there are twists. 1) to capture creature (rather than fight), you need to win a puzzle setup where moves must be made in a distinct order or you lose. 2) to train mounts, you need to battle but on a timed per-move basis. To train them to a higher level, you will have less time to beat a stronger creature. 3) to find Runes, which enable the creation of some very awesome tools, you have still another type of Battle screen, where Hammers & Anvils are the objective. I know I'm leaving out something but I'm rushing right now to go out. The game will draw you in for those first 25 levels anyway, so I don't see any risk for you. There is a story line, the characters are done fairly well, and some of their responses are actually funny. For $8, it's probably the best buy on the App store.
"Nice" to hear others are suffering from Puzzle Quest headaches too. I bought the game just before the light version came out (had been playing the PC demo previously and loved it). One or two battles is enough to give me a splitting headache. Weird thing is that I can surf the web and play any other games without problems. The PQ text is so tiny that I have to make a concious effort to read it, and somehow the graphics seem kind of evasive and hard to look at, too (no, I'm not wearing glasses but maybe I should). If you are prone to migraine, be sure to check out the lite version before buying. I sure wish I had...
I was very definitely in the headache category before the text issues were resolved. I wear 2.0 diopter reading glasses and am completely fine now, although there are some screens that are still a bit difficult.
Thank you!!! I' always wandered why sometimes I was given the option!!! Now I'll train my Griffon and Pegasus much more!!!!!!! BTW: Has anyone been able to learn some spell rated VERY HARD? I've almost thrown my iPhone away yesterday!!!
I think regeneration and hide were very hard and learned them without much trouble. Ghoulish aura is tough though.
This game is absolutely fantastic! I LOVE it! It's very much like old skool Eye of the Beholder or Oblivion. Does anyone know how to get rid of warts? I caught them of a prostitute in the Vastares. What does warts actually do? Also, I've done so many side quests that I'm slightly lost as to my main aim - could someone remind me? Finally - can you lie effectively in every situation with enough persuation? I've left the recrtuiter boy quest in limbo because the recruiter keeps spotting my lie Is there a full walkthrough anywhere yet?
I was going to say... if you're doing anything with the monsters in Puzzle Quests that would allow you to get warts... eeeewwwww
I don't get head aches, but after roughly 30 minute of play, my eyes get really sore and bloodshot as if I had smoked a pound of hash. Not sure if that's just because I'm staring intently at the gem board looking for matches or if it's the resolution of the game. Despite that though, it's still my favorite app for the moment and has been for quite some time (and will remain until I beat it). I had discounted this RPG because of the gem-matching elements (I had never been a fan) but I'm totally in it now.
I'm a big RPG fan but never played Bejeweled or any of those puzzle games which I am not the best at. Is it mostly playing that puzzle game or is there a lot of RPG stuff as well? I am seriously considering buying it next month with the free chapter being added on! I'm still not sure, sooo I will have to do my own research but I also know someone here will answer my question.
