Anyone else on the ipod seeing the graphics being not as sharp? I remember DS looking a lot sharper. Some things look even blurry to me =\
Ehh. A 7/10 for a $7 game isn't very good. Lol. Hopefully "Getting there" means "FIX YOUR FKING GAME!"
I'd give it a 6.5 overall I think it could get an 8/10 max if they fixed the problems (they'd have to change alot to get a 9/10 or 10/10 from me)
Though I'm not him I'd say it's better than Shadowgun, but not as good as Dead Space (I didn't really like Shadowgun that much though)
Lol, the game isn't broken as such - it's just that some things aren't as good as they could be. Personally I find some things so good that they draw attention to the bad that much more. That's close enough. I don't like going into decimal points. xD As a reference - when I had as much time with ShadowGun as I had with Mass Effect, I would have given that a 7 as well, but for different reasons. The voice acting in ShadowGun was worse than it is here (to me). I agree with Der-Kleine in that this isn't as good as Dead Space, but I'd say it's about on par with Shadowgun, just vastly different. I actually rather liked ShadowGun though.
Wow, didn't expect this to hit the AppStore so soon. =oD I haven't played the original ME, but ME 2 was AMAZING. Loved it. Definitely can't wait to snag this one up tonight... And avoid sleeping... =oD Woohoo! ***excitement building*** dadadun...
I wish there was a lite version to try out. I do see that the game is amazing in some aspects and bad in others, but some of those downfalls could be game breaking to other people.
Actually I just got the sniper and am upping my score to 7/10. Though you don't really aim with the sniper it's pretty cool to use Basically you see heads exploding in slow motion.
Thanks for the comparisons. I guess I'm sold. I will probably get this when it releases in the US. Dead space is brilliant. It is hard for a game to live up to it.
First Impressions I just got this game (I finished the first three or four battles) and I must say this is one unique surprise. This is what Epoch was supposed to be like. Combat is perfect for touch controls: I like the way you have to guide the aim after you tap an opponent. that makes me feel more like I'm aiming myself. Its not iron sights aiming but to me this is kinda perfect for a touch screen, and I'm loving it. A few bugs but nothing that takes the fun out of it. I like the style points system (WAAAAAAAAAYYYY better than M.U.S.E). Between powers, biotics and weapons, I'd say I'm gonna have a gooood night. who knows, this is after all my first impression.
Thanks for the video, Der-Kleine. The graphics look pretty nice even on your iPod Touch 4 (I'm assuming you're playing it on one). I'm not a big fan of Mass Effect games though, I played the demo for Mass Effect 3 and I really didn't like it, largely due to the controls. I also didn't like the general feel of moving around and the combat. Maybe I'll pick this game up when it drops in price, but for now I'll be spending my money on other games.
I don't understand why there are so many haters right now. The backgrounds, sounds, combat and animation all look perfect. The combat looks like its perfectly suited for a touch device making the experience even better. Overall, 11pm can't come any sooner.. During dead week of finals. Oh well.
honestly...I was on the fence on this one. Not a big Mass Effect fan, but after watching your video...I'm definitely getting it as soon as it get out in the Canadian Store. Controls seem fine, combat system isn't as bad as I anticipated, and the atmosphere of the game looks pretty cool. I'll report my impressions after I play the game for a good amount of time. quick question...how long do you think the game is?
Ok after Der-Kleine's video i calm down a bit. The game looks fantastic and seems quite intense. I think that is far better than Shadowgun (witch i like it a lot). As for the Dead Space comparison i think that in technical specs are on par but the big difference is that DS is one of the most atmospheric games ever (i am talking for console and the iOS version) so i cannot compare it with a shooter RPG game (witch is the iOS ME version). Anyway from Der-Kleine's video i am seeing that we have here a new AA game and that is enough for me (was about time, now that Gameloft tries the stupid -imo- freemium model).
