Truly one of the best 3rd person shooters on iOS. Can't go wrong with Mass Effect:Infiltrator. I love the game. It's awesome.
EA sucks for not getting the devs to update this game and dead space with widescreen. The android version has had that since launch but they're too lazy 6 months later to give it for iOS.
Apologies if its already covered in this very long thread, but how do you control the sniper rifle? The sights move around of their own accord, and swiping on the screen has no effect, so it's never pointing in the right place when the swinging thing is in the right position to shoot.
As someone who normally gets dizzy playing FPS/third person shooters..and someone who doesn't have any consoles nor game much on the PC anymore..boy is this a fun, "console-ish" game to me. The game feels very atmospheric to me, and one of the few that I play with sound (using earphones). Hopefully since it sounds like Dead Space on the iOS has been updated with widescreen support means Mass Effect may get the same treatment! ;-)
While the phrase, "no-brainer" gets thrown around quite a bit... yeah, this is a no-brainer for a buck. Not sure what review you read, but if a game this good for a dollar is a potentially bad investment, I am officially giving up on iOS gaming. DBC
I think a lot of the original reviews were based on the original 1 type of controls. EA added another control options and apparently the game is a lot better. When I started this week, I tried the default controls for a bit and didn't like it. After switching to the newer controls...the game is fun. Now the next question for me is does the iOS Dead Space play like this Mass Effect. I may have to pick it up if its the same type of gameplay.
Deadspace plays like the newer control scheme ala Mass Effect or traditional 3rd person control scheme but with invisible analogue sticks. Both are the two very best 3rd person adventure/shooter games on iOS. Pick up Deadspace. You'll love it.
Every time a self-identified FPS/TPS fan laments whether or not to pick up DS, my reaction is this: Followed by this: Followed by: GET IT! DBC
I'm one of the few that prefer the original intuitive controls for Mass Effect over the traditional 3rd person controls. Love the game. Kept it both on my iPhone and iPad.
Oddly enough, I HATED the original controls on my iPad, like almost to the point of deleting the game. Started playing on my iPhone in a last ditch effort to enjoy it before cutting it loose, and I LOVED them. Eventually switched to traditional on the pad, and voila, best of both worlds! DBC
