make sure you're sprinting. then while sprinting you slide down with your right hand's finger. i've never really had a problem with it. the only issue that it's hard to aim because there's never a lot of room to run and hit your target. charge actually seems to work a lot better!

In addition to what L.Lawliet said, you can't sprint with the beam weapon, therefore no sliding either.

Shadowgun > ME:I just because shadowgun is a full fledged 3rd person shooter with 12 full campaign missions. thats just my opinion.

I like this more than Shadowgun. Shadowgun was very soulless IMO. This is also somewhat shallow and repetitive, but the atmosphere is more professional. Also, the upgrades and rankings help provide a sense of accomplishment.

ShadowGun wins for me. At the end of it I wanted to play more and I did. At the end of this...

ME:I > Shadowgun. Shadowgun was fun at first but then it just got a little too cheesy..

For all the complaints about ME:I, Shadowgun is still rather more simplistic and repetitive, although the story and character elements are more developed (relatively speaking) in that game than this one (which shouldn't have happened, considering that we're talking major RPG series with Mass Effect). ME has its problems, but SG just feels like more like an iOS tech demo than a full-fledged game.

I think this is better than Shadowgun. While I loved SG a lot when I first got it, I grew tired of it. I just didn't really "feel it". There's admittedly a bigger game in SG but ME has a lot of fun with customizations and powers to let you always have different kinds of fun. In a sense, it's less repetitive than Shadowgun.

You're supposed to rate a game the way it is, not the way it could be.

Very much what Appletini said. Combat-wise, in Shadowgun, run and gun was about the only options available in battles.ME:I has melee attacks, biotics, cloaking, sprinting, and other abilities/tactical options. Furthermore, and tied in to the options available in combat, ME:I has a number of upgrades to equipment, different armor and helmets, and purchasable abilities and biotics, providing that ever-popular sense of accomplishment (or illusion of achievement, if you lean to the cynical side ;) ). Together, all of this makes ME:I a rather tactical shooter, if lacking in the actual action aspect.

(A point in Shadowgun's favour, however, is that moving and firing, the very few things you COULD do in battles, were actually well implemented. ME:I's manuevers, movement, attacks and abilities occasionally feel clumsy and inexact.)

Also, as Alex DeLargest pointed out, the atmosphere in ME:I has an elusive but somehow more professional feel to it.

However, the narrative in Shadowgun is probably a bit more intricate, developed and well-written, if only perhaps ever so slightly. For a Mass Effect fan, however, the familiar setting and ties to the original IP might make the setting and story elements (sparse though they are) more rewarding.

How do you know, seriously?? I thought the same when I bought that piece of crap called Battlefield bad company 2. They udpdated it, and it still was a laggy, crashfest.

This game is not that bad, If I has to choose between this and SG, MEI all the way. The only thing that I don't like about this game is, it's controls. MC3 control schem should have sufficed. All in all, I don't regret buying this on launch:)

Close... but I think right now Shadowgun takes it. While I liked both, Shadowgun's controls were just more simple and intuitive, allowing me to focus on the strategy of a TPS (picking the right cover, flanking, etc) while ME:I's control scheme sort of prevents that. Also, the inability to aim and fire, and the unresponsiveness of ME:I's controls sort of hold it back, making the new control scheme very annoying, and near impossible to run n' gun, while shadowgun, especially with the new roll dodge, excels in this area. It doesn't help that the two main bosses in ME:I sort of require a run n' gun style to defeat them... particularly Inali.

I gave it a shot and... Wow. What a travesty. Absolutely the most clunky, unresponsive pos I have ever played. Just awful. Constantly fighting the horrible controls and unresponsive combat more than actually fighting. I literally have a guy right in front of me and I have to make precise movements to get the blue outline to show up so I can shoot him. I should just be able to shoot him. This game has literally left me with a wtf were they thinking face. Just unbelievable.
