I figured out the issue was my spotty Internet connection. Evidently, if unable to do that initial online GC initialization when first run, I couldn't even start a game. Online Leaderboards are fairly meaningless to me as well, but I just was annoyed to see what I thought was Harbor Master's "Jumping the Shark" moment of adding Rewinds now made it into the premeir line drawer (the student teaching the master a new gimmick?). All of this being said the two new maps (Storm here and the Moon Base for the HD version) are darn clever.
I loved this game & haven't played it for a long time. This is one of the classics and I hope EA will bring it back. It's sad that good games like this can disappear so easily. So if you bought the game, it's still on your purchase list. I downloaded it for some more sessions.
Agreed, this is one of the classics like FieldRunners or Canabalt or Plants vs Zombies that deserves to come preinstalled on every device.
I really miss this game which reminds me of my old iPhone 3Gs. Anyone knows if there is any plan to bring it back on the iPhone?
