I think weather effects and a nighttime mode similiar to what Sea Captain has would be great additions. I'm not sure how they would alter play exactly... maybe variable cross winds would require you to switch runways you are directing traffic to. A nightime mode would just be cool from a graphical perspective. Maybe there is a neighborhood nearby, and you loose points for flying planes over the neighborhood. Again, I'm not sure if any of these would work - the beauty of FC was its simplicity... I'm not sure if any of these ideas would be fun... I'll keep brainstorming.
maybe a map where the runways intersect in a + sign and the planes have to continue all the way down the runway so they cant hit each other at the intersection. maybe a rocket ship that goes super fast that has to land....maybe a map with obstructions like an air traffic control tower that you cant hit. And a bird where if you run into it your plane goes down.....like the hudson river thing
I really think more maps need to be added. I decided that I no longer want to compete with the most landings, as the top players are averaging over 1000 landings a day. Simply too much for me.
Apologies in advance if this was mentioned before, but one thing I would love to have in FC is to have the game offer to turn on bluetooth if it is off when I try to start a multiplayer game - it's the only one on my iPod Touch that doesn't do this...
That problem is always going to be there. No matter how many maps are there. Someone will reach a level you cant even think of.
This is one reason I do not like online leaderboards. Someone somewhere is sweating blood to get to the top and others are fighting for that too. Back in the arcade days machines would be stuck at 99,999,999 points but they didn't matter so much because you didn't have the machine at home. But now scores come to us and can be annoying simply because you cannot get that high because you have a life. They can even turn you off a game. And even if you do hit the scores the person who got the score first stays at the top normally and there will be a few of those no doubt. So don't look at online leaderboards and just play the game as it is intended - for fun.
Anyone know what the chances are for local Wifi multiplayer, not just bluetooth? Im not asking for them to set up a server, just to allow us 1st gen users to join in on the fun!! my brother has a 2nd gen but i have a first so itd be nice if we could play together.
i think if this is gonna be better than harbor master they should have it so you have planes leave the port to make it much more fun. but thats my suggestion
Facebook app Hi everyone, sorry it's been a while since my last post in this thread - things have been pretty crazy with the way Flight Control has taken off (hehe), and then Real Racing as well! I wanted to let you all know that we have just released a new Facebook App for Flight Control, which will show you how you rank against your Facebook friends and also let you post new personal bests to your feed. You get nice shiny badges for your profile page too The bad thing is that you may discover (like I have) that your dad is kicking your butt, oh well Here's a screenshot of what the app looks like (NOTE: I have blurred pics and names to protect the privacy of my FB friends...): And here is what it looks like on your profile: So if you're on Facebook make sure you install it, and I'd love to hear what you think of it! Alex
This is actually the reason we implemented high scores the way we did, in the default setting it shows you recent scores from people at a similar level to you who are also geographically close to you... as you get better, your "circle of influence" gets larger, but it's never just the one ranking number which is kinda boring IMO Alex
Ya but there was always that kid that skipped out of school and spent his lunch money while sitting on defender all day. There will always be someone.
yes there is, a new update has been announced on the flight control facebook and its going to add a new map, i think it said an australian outback map
Great to hear about a new map, although I've always believed in quality over quantity...I still drastically prefer this to Harbor Master despite the frequent updates of that one.
Couldn't agree with you more. While everything in Harbor Master was well done, and I don't have any specific complaints, it hasn't kept me coming back like Flight Control has. Somehow, it's just not as fun. It just seems to lack the special something that you see here
Agreed. I really like the music in Harbor Master, but that's about the only advantage it has on Flight Control. The latter's simplicity is what keeps me coming back.
