Amazing Game Flight Control has become my favorite app that I have played to this point. iDracula had it's time but eventually you will die, no matter how well you might be playing, you just dont get enough ammo sometimes. Flight Control however, keeps asking you to play better and better. Everyone who claims that 572 or 991 is impossible or hacked is wrong. My high score is 723 and now I probably average 4-500 every game, my last was 654. It never overwhelms you if you pay close attention and is just flat out the simplest thing Ive ever been addicted to. Fantastic game, and a different landing strip layout would add an entirely new element that would keep the experience fresh over and over. LOVE IT!
Well done on the high score, and good to hear that others are achieving similarly excellent records! Now I have a new problem: When can I start a new game and be able to set aside a whole hour to reach that kind of score!?!?! I can only afford to play in short 5-10min bursts. Then again, since I'm only averaging about 50 planes its not something that will happen immediately, but I'd like to think that I will suddenly get some inspiration and head towards a 4-digit score!!! (dreams on... )
By sticking with it and playing a lot. My high score is now 185, average of 44, most on screen 19, total landed 9,561. I really want to reset the stats... That average score is low compared to what I've been getting lately... I probably average 70 now but have played so many times that my average is low.
Just delete and reinstall it on yer device. I was thinking of doing the same thing for the same reason.
Broke into the 200 club (and now I will rest). Bigtime kudos to gambino for getting nearly 1000 at this game; the patience required to reach that score must be biblical in proportion.
Gambino's hiscores are legit, deal with it. I might have been a hater too but if my old motor skills can manage over 200 I know damn well someone else can get 1000 since the same strategies apply; just need extra patience and coordination.
Suggestions for improvement I love this game. Its simplicity is why I keep coming back, and I'm sure that if you're reading this you know it too. I've seen calls for new levels and I don't think that they would add to the game. It would dilute the experience of a common challenge that we can all talk about. Developers, (if you are reading), I suggest a slight tweak to the scoring system where you get more points for a long, straight airplane (not helicopter) landing, say 1 point for every 5mm (that gives a max of 5 points on pink and 3 on yellow). That would be easy to achieve at first then harder as the game progresses, but it would still be in the spirit of the challenge. What do you think?
Thanks Thanks to deckard for the defense. My scores are always legit. And to try to piggyback off the strategies that were already mentioned...specifically spmwinkel's. I disagree on a few on his/her points. Like the priorities of routing. I pay attention to new aircraft first and foremost. During later points in the game you will most likely always have the red circle around two aircraft. As long as you have faith in the routes you have already made there should be no problems. New aircraft, however, come on the screen at a random course. You need to point them where YOU want before they interfere with others. Other than that I have two tips...I try to send all new aircraft directly to their landing spot immediately. With a few modifications of course. When they come out of the left side I leave sort of like a "bubble" in their path around the beginning of the long airstrip, to allow for small corrections with jets and timing. Secondly, I would say that trying to get the aircraft as straight as possible upon entering the strip can be very useful. In other words, try not to have the planes turning into the strip if they are already over the beginning edge of it. Sometimes the small jets dont disappear right away and can cause crashes which are very frustrating. So try and have your planes already going straight at the strip like a millimeter before. Oh yea and also I really dont worry much about helicopters at all. (although I still curve their routes from the left side as well) 9.5 times out of ten they land no matter how many are close to the landing pad. However, this game is always situational and you have to always adjust to accomodate for your own personal strategies. Sorry to write a novel but 1000 point scores are NOT impossible and as I have found out from Firemint, I am not the first. Good luck and happy landings!
That's OK! I learned from some of your thoughts. I think the incoming planes vs. red warning signs are a perfect example of this. It always depends on the current situation you're in. At some times you see warning signs and you know that when you drew the paths there, you kept them apart from each other so that planes should be able to fly past each other. Then, of course, look at new planes. But if I see a red warning sign on a place where I didn't expect it, then I give that a higher priority and simply hope that new planes will fly in at a safe angle. (If they don't, there will be a red warning sign as well. Also, if you try to keep plane paths away from the edges a bit, it's fairly safe.) Good one. It's really annoying if a large plane is coming from the left and a small plane needs to make a turn at the landing strip.
After playing for an eternity you'll find out that the same types of planes always enter at the same location and that they always enter at the same angle. I am kind of embarassed that I didn't notice that before. I guess I'm now more relaxed than before. Still only managed to get my highscore up to 203 *sigh*
Gambino's strategy couldnt be more correct (well at least in my mind) new planes take top billing as far as my attention goes. Immediately put the new on track to where it is going, nothing is more frustrating than a yellow plane slamming into a helicopter because you failed to put it on course and it was running wild on screen. I would also recommend trying to make all plane routes in the middle of the sceen. What I mean by that trying to avoid putting the planes on routes that run them near the edges of the map. Big jets come in fast and smaller jets and biplanes get creamed sometimes before you know what you're doing. Ive got some screen shots of pretty decent scores (my best is still 723) and Ill try and upload them eventually to give myself some credit so I dont look like a rambling idiot on here . As far as more tips are concerned, quick fingers, lots of patience and a little luck can lead to huge scores!
