If you think the graphics are bad, then you need your head checked.

short? 6 hours, the original had like 8 hours of gameplay! and it has replayability, that depends if you wanna get the 100% of the game.

bad graphics? are you kidding me? did you even see the last boss? check you eyes dude. aralon has bad graphics IMO bad textures and bad modeling and bad animations COMPARED to this... and on UE3 you just have a demo and IB and that's on rails.

it has the same gameplay dynamics than the original DS, and pretty much the same scenarios variety.

i'm sorry for you dude, you can like it or not, rate it however you want, but the things you just stated there are very very wrong.

im thinking maybe you don't have good taste.

You think Aralon has better graphics than Dead Space? Wow. I could not disagree more. This game not only looks vastly better than Aralin, it's also animated and lit much better. As to gameplay--I guess that just shows honest people can disagree. I loved the gameplay in this game, I found the gameplay in Aralon boring as heck. Anyway, all else aside, I don't think many people will agree with you at all about the graphics. Even on a 2g they look very good, on a retina display and iPad they are amazing.

This game is great they did a really good job on this iOS version. I love the zero gravity areas.

Good points all. I spent about five and a half hours my first play through and will play again. I thought the combat was fun as heck. And as you said, this game does much more than epic citadel or IB. Citadel didn't have any enemies, AI, or gameplay, IB (while a lot of fun), is on rails. People can like what they like, but I think DS is the best IOS game made so far.

yeah, IMO is the best and ONLY console experience we got so far on the iOS, i've never been that immersed on my iTouch, Dead Space manages to suck you in completely!

and i got a couple scares too... not easy to pull off on a handheld!

    for the poster:
mister, are you insane?unreal games have better grph then this?maybe infinity blade,so if you think this game is repetitive have you even PLAYED infinity blade???"fight monster 1,then monster 2...killed by godking, fight monster 1..."
i dont say its not a good game but it definitely is more repetitive than dead space.your explanation of this game perfectly suits the console games too,but see if ign thinks likewise.im not some dead space fanboy,i just say that i have played many(many,many...) games on my ipod and nobody achieved this level of greatness with an iphone game.gamelofts games have terrible voice acting and in-game story, infinity blade is repetitive, rage doesnt have full movement and so on...this is a whole new level of iphone gaming and iphone gamers should encourage this...
just to add one more thing:name one other game that has this great graphics, full movement, good story and polish?

    p.s. on my third playthrought:D
if you turn off the lights, wear headphones and turn the sound up,the game goes from awesome to AMAZING!

Even though I loved every second of the game, that sentence I quoted is pretty accurate. >_>

    Game Impressions

So I finished it in 4:48 and must say, it's a nice game.

    + Good graphics
    + Good sound
+ Enough variety concerning the Enviroment
    + Good controlls
+ Ending was kind of surprising ^^
+ Without knowing the Xbox Version, I found it had consol quality

    - quite easy
    - cheasy "Story" (how stupid do developers think we are?)
    - no shocking effects for me, I was not shi++ing by pants. It didn't scare me and I thing it would only frighten a 3 Year old.
    - less variety in enemies
    - quite short if you ask me, but I find it better to be too short but with quality, than too long and only with quantity.

    Neutral:
    * A voice, leading you through the game and fooling you the whole game? Reminds me of Bioshock :D

    ATTENTION: SPOILER:
    +++++++++++++
    +++++++++++++
I should have known from the beginning, that
I was playing a woman. Take a close look at the Intro:
You can see Vandal with her arms crossed :D That's a typical feminine position ^^

Yes, but how many other games can you make similar statements about. Take Infinity Blade, for example - from what I understand, that game is nothing if not completely repetitive. Racing games? Go around track. Go around again. Shooter games? Find enemy, kill enemy. Repeat.

It's true that it did get a bit repetitive near the end - as I've already commented, they could have done something more than just ramping up the number of enemies. However, Chapter 11 was anything but repetitive, and I was amazed to see that level of quality in the game.

I also thought it had a pretty decent story - definitely fit in well with the over all Dead Space universe, although now I want to know more about... things.

I figured the twist out pretty quick based on a few clues in the first few seconds of the game:

    Spoilers (highlight to read):
Why a code name instead of a real name?
Why mask the voice? Who's going to recognize it?
I wondered both of those things right away, and the only answer was to surprise the player. We already knew vandal wasn't Isac, and no one else survived the first game, so the surprise couldn't be that we knew the character already. If the character was just a relative of Isac or of someone from the first game, we wouldn't recognize the name or the voice anyway, so they wouldn't have needed to be hidden until the big reveal. Also, we'd never seen Vandal out of the armor or without the mask. The only thing that made sense to me was that Vandal was femal

Do I need high quality headphones to play this, or will my iPod earphones do the job?

If you use that logic, every game is repetitive.

You know what would be awesome.... for this game to get GC scoreboards for a a couple of survival maps. One that is wide open with a couple of columns, one that is darkly lit like the mine, and one that is full of tight hallways.

Start off with a set amount of ammo and keep going till you die. With the vents and other ways that enemies spawn you could make their spawn locations varied and random.

Sorry if someone is disturbed with my impressions earlier but that is what I think about Dead Space.

No offense, but I think you are wrong if you believe that create linear small repetitive corridors is to have better graphics than an open map like Aralon or amazing graphics effects like Unreal engine or Rage engine.

And yeah, the game is repetitive. Scenario is the same all the way and monsters seems to be all family too.

I think everyone is like "OMG DEAD SPACE" because iOS lacks of great console quality games right now.

It's not a bad game, but greatly overrated IMHO.

This is one of the best games I've played on the iOS. :D

I went through the game a few times to get more achievements, the last time through, I only used the Plasma Cutter, and Plasma Saw for the One Gun achievement. I did switch between a few weapons, but only ever shot with the Plasma Cutter. I was on New Game+ so maybe that is the problem. But, if that's not it I don't know what's wrong. lol Because, I think sometimes it's required to pick up the weapons to open the doors. Then you automatically get it equipped and have to switch.

you wanna talk about repetive mentioning IB? seriously? like a fella there said "every game is repetitive"... and aralon is not THAT of an "open" world, it doesn't have massive maps, however the graphics are awful... and Dead Space has some pretty big areas.

i think everything else you said its pretty much your opinion based on your taste, its pretty clear that graphics on DS are way better than aralon and DS offers way more play value that IB, Rage HD, and aralon... for me, aralon is overrated and it doesn't worth $9.99.
