Sorry man, I didn't have time to thumb through everything. Looked in the first couple pages and couldn't find it. Got impatient LOL. Wow really 1st gens too? Crazy hahaha
You didnt need to go through 1st couple of pages. First 2 posts would have been more than good enough http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=1555718&postcount=2
ROFL, your gunna laugh, but I looked at that and managed to skip that one. That's why I was like "WTF why wasn't this answered already?" hahaahaha /mefail
Absolute gold. I caned the living hell out of it in pretty much one sitting. Haven't read the review of it or read through this thread, just fancied saying that the insanity effects were tremendous, I swear if I see shit like that when I get Dead Space 2 tomorrow, I won't be disappointed at all. Controls are perfect, only nusance for me is when trying to pick up an object, I sometimes ended up unloading some ammo. Not a big problem at all when the walking and looking controls are this good. Enjoyed thoroughly, explored and conquered in 3 hours 1 minute. Won't be playing it again, but I got more than my money's worth.
that's my biggest problem so far. ive wasted so much ammo trying to pick shit up. minor gripe though... this game is sick.
23rd in appstore and climbing anyone figured out how to put ur weapon down rather than running forward?thats the only niggle i have
I am going to admit something. Dead Space on iOS is my first taste of the franchise. However, EA have just earned themselves purchases of games I had never considered for my Xbox 360.
Two ways: 1.) Quick Turnaround by double tapping your character (180 degree spin) 2.) Just swipe up on your character. He will drop the gun.
WTF??? I barely started the game and I am already scared! EA, it's because of this kind of work I admire you, eventhough I am still mad you barely update your apps (FIFA 11).
I get my salary on Thursday and will definitely pick up the first game to play through this weekend. And if it freaks me out on an iPhone, it'll be interesting on a 40' Bravia!
This game is so faithful to the original and so good in itself that I'm just left speechless. It's the absolute CLOSEST and undoubtfully BEST transition of a console game to the IOS. Forget Gameloft games, forget any other `console-like` game. This IS a console game: it feels like it, plays like it, h*** it almost LOOKS like it. Some new and refreshing gameplay elements are added which include the hallucinations (which, believe it or not, are better to me than the Dead Space original ones) and the Plasma Saw, which is more appropriate as opposed to the clumsy melee from the original. The upgrade system is there, the various (and awesome) suits are there, the weapons are there (including new ones), various necromorph types, great animation (I personally saw almost no difference in quality of animation from the console version and this one), truly astonishingly amazing and colourful graphics (Iphone 4), great presentation and storyline with plot twists and a loong campaign (took me 4.5 hours on normal), zero gravity and vacuum environments, etc. I better stop praising this game now Short version: Think Dead Space with all it offered you on the consoles and more, on your phone.
grabbed both versions, then did some testing on ipad to see difference between both versions. scaled up, the iphone version looks noticeably grainy as you'de expect. but if you kick on retinapad from the jailbreak scene, it pretty much looks identical to the more expensive ipad version. looks like this could have easily been a universal app, the res increase is the only change, something that retinapad easily overcame. from an effects, gameplay, or anything else standpoint, didn't notice one thing different. great game, but this part of it that some developers are doing really irritates me. It's the exact same game as far as I could see with a 99cent cydia purchase. If the game played differently, had more effects, levels anything, i could buy the whole seperate game thing but to have the only distinction be something that a simple little jailbreak tweak could overcome and something that ea could have easily overcome to make this a universal app is really dirty practices. I can't believe developers can get away with this garbage. maybe i need to stare harder and spend more time with the comparison thing but my jaw was on the ground to see retinapad make it the exact same game. just not cool...
Gameloft does the with almost every single one of their games. Maybe there's some technical limitation as to why it couldn't just upscale the single set of graphical assets for the game, and have a separate iPad ui to make it universal. I guess they make enough money off of HD releases to warrant it.
