It's just you. Even the console version of Dead Space is only a few hours longer (I think someone mentioned 8-12) so 6 hours for a fraction of the price, on your phone, without sacrificing the atmosphere or immersive experience, is pretty good.
Just come back to reiterate how well the control scheme works. It's absolutely positively intuitive to a point I wonder I how I got along with other games on the device. It also makes me wonder why Carmack and company couldn't come up with something like this for RAGE.
And when you think hard enough about it, that's exactly what this game was too. An advertisement app for Dead Space 2 done absolutely well.
THe only thing I dislike about this game so far is the pacing. The character moves really slow and running feels so awkward. I know it adds to the whole atmosphere of the game but I dislike it
Sitting in Germany sucks right now. Just sooooo annoying. Battlefield wasn't that brilliant anyway. But this time... bad!
Ya, you break appstore terms and conditions and your account can be suspended if Apple finds out and decide to take an action. As far as legality of it is concerned, I dunno. I'm not an expert here.
Priceless, but pretty accurate; Brad's reviews and articles are some of the most poorly written on the site-the DS review proves it.
Wow! After reading the lukewarm TA review here, I gotta admit, I was a bit hesitant to pick this up. But now after seeing these reviews & all the good comments here, I think I may need to try it out now. Great 5/5 review @ Appspy! http://www.appspy.com/dead-space-review (Not quite sure how to make it look all pretty like don_k did)
What's poorly written about it? I'm not sure where everyone gets this idea from that we just shoot from the hip here. For Dead Space, that review was the work of two people, with four of us actually playing the game. I think there's basically nothing we can do to make everyone happy. If we would have said the game is the greatest thing since sliced bread, the usual suspects would be out in force bitching that TouchArcade never gives negative reviews. If we said the game sucked ass, it would be overloaded with the typical "Blaaarrgghh TouchArcade doesn't know how to play video games." You basically can't win against teenagers who are entirely too comfortable with the complete anonymity provided by the Internet. I'm just amused that blocking the Brad Nicholson fan club from TouchArcade has caused them to spill over to comment threads on other sites... lmao.
I like how saying that the game is the best game on IOS merits you at least 4 likes on the front page comments from the exact same 4 people. How dare you point out the weaknesses of this game!!! f u brad!!!!!!!
The worst part is I specifically asked Brad to include the fact that we don't think Dead Space is a difficult recommendation at all within the first two paragraphs to try to make it clear to people (who likely didn't even read the whole thing) that we liked the game quite a bit... But that doesn't seem to stop anyone from complaining.
