This. And Monster Hunter so I'm double screwed. I intentionally didn't start them because I had a 6S+ in the plans but by the time I got my new phone they were both broken.
This is why I never update my iOS devices systematically. I updated my iPhone to iOS 7 to play Tomb Raider, I updated to iOS 8 to play Grim Fandango. I never updated to iOS 8.4 and beyond to keep playing Bioshock. I have an iPhone 5S with iOS 8.3 and happy with it. I also bought an iPad mini 4 but it had natively iOS 9...so no Bioshock for instance.
So I guess it's time to say that Bioshock on iOS 9 isn't going to happen. Dunno why I keept my hopes high for an update.
For those of you participating in the Twittersphere, there is a short poll here about which 2K iOS game you'd like to see patched! https://twitter.com/bioshockrip/status/708426300407599104 Looks like the poll bit only works from the app, though
OMG I'M SO PUMPED!I CAN'T BELIEVE IN THIS!!!!! Our prayers have been heard!!!!! http://support.2k.com/hc/en-us/articles/206357388--IOS-BioShock-temporarily-removed-from-the-App-Store- Check the date of the post!!
That looks like a newer article but the message is still essentially EXACTLY THE SAME as the original July support article: The game has been completely broken since June 30 2015 (when iOS 8.4 was released) and will only work with iOS 8.3. The mentions of iOS 9 are completely irrelevant. A version was never made available for iOS 9 on the AppStore. The studio responsible for developing the game was shut in October 2015. The 'gameplay issues' referred to are still the same i.e. It will still crash EVERY TIME on load if you're running 8.4 or newer. This is simply spin by 2K to provide something that looks like an update but actually contains nothing of actual value or news. These guys should work in politics.
Exactly but the fact that they mention "December of 2015" gives me much more hope,I thought that it was abandoned.
Every time this thread gets bumped up, I get another little piece of hope. And then it dies... 2K... c'mon guys...
I expect 9.3.2 has not fixed Bioshock. Although 9.3.2 has addressed the Game Center bug, my understanding of the problem facing Bioshock was a restructuring and decrease of memory resources available to it by iOS in the June 30 iOS release. Every few months we get 'we're fixin' it folks!' messages via support articles from 2K but the simple reality is that the studio responsible for the port (2K Games China) was shut by 2K a few months later and it's been over 10 and a half months since it broke - with the only 'fix' being to downgrade to a version of iOS now almost a year old (with all the security and bug risk that implies).
Yeah, apparently still broken. Logo screens, and... menu popped up and then instantly cut to a black screen of doom.
