Finally i was about to hit the purchase button (i played it to death on console but for 3 bucks...) but is it true.the inverted look doesn't work? That would be a real bummer
WTF i just loaded this to check the invert-option for Crabman and i got an ad for one of those freemium space trading games on startup???????
Something is terribly wrong with the picture quality: http://abload.de/img/img_23424tu39.png It looks upscaled. (iPhone 6, iOS 8.2) On iPad Bioshock seems to run without these problems: https://youtu.be/wtO4yyIx6x8 (not my video)
tested on ipad air 2 yesterday.looks ok but the framerate is really the absolute minimum you need for an enjoyable shooter experience imo.Too bad, there is definitely more possible on Air 2 (or with metal support generally). And those textures.... Anyway, plays great with controller and for 3 bucks there is not much too complain.Or maybe that it blows up to 3,3 GB if you download an additional voice pack (even if the game says that english will be REPLACED with the new files.). I don't think it's a port that will stay forever on my device unlike Kotor,Xcom,Stranger's wrath...
That sounds weird, since Day launch,on iPhone 5,5s was so grainy and pixelated( a lot more than in The picture, then i upgrade to The iPhone 6 plus, then 2k update The game optimized for iPhone 6,6 plus, and on iPhone 6 plus now the graphic it's ok,it's not grainy or pixelated like in the picture,iPhone 6 plus,iOS 8.2,don't know what's happen on iPhone 6..instead,on iPad the resolution it's a lot way better..
That's how it looks like on Air 2.Looks better as screenshot than in motion though. It struggles to keep at least a steady 25-30 fps and is a bit rough arround the edges. And many textures are really muddy.nonetheless it's good playable and still a great game.
Yeah,on iPad it's look better, and The fact that The bigger screen had to show more pixel,it cause less FPS than on iPhone,I play on iPhone 6 plus, with less resolution than on iPad,but I've a better FPS,no framerate drop,I'm on my 2 playtrough at max difficulty level, with more enemy on screen,I'm near the end,Point Prometheus, and no lag at all, even when I used the MAD CATZ C.T.R.L.I..and I like a lot, been in past one of my favorite games of all times on console..I think 2k choose some compromises on graphics cause it's really important on a FPS the framerate,I think only metal can give us a little better performance, either in resolution, and framerate..
So does this look/play worse on Air 2 vs the first iPad Air? I ask because I have the original Air and was thinking originally how much better it must play on the Air 2. Sounds like that is not the case?
It "should" perform better on Air 2 because Air 1 has the same resolution (unlike the iphones) but much less powerful specs. No idea if it looks/runs better in reality though.2K is a bit lazy here it seems.I'm sure it could perform better on Air 2 and i'm not even talking about metal enhancements. Have a look at this comparison (Air 1 has an A7 chip). http://www.anandtech.com/show/8716/apple-a8xs-gpu-gxa6850-even-better-than-i-thought
Wouldn't recommend it. As a huge fan of the series I bought with trepidation, and my concerns were very much confirmed. On the iPad 4, and, as I hear, on every other device, the framerate is abysmal, with atrociously downgraded graphics and poor controls. There is no customization of controls or graphics. This is not remotely an acceptable way to experience one of the best shooters of the previous generation, and if this is your first excursion into the series I truly pity you. Pick it up for $10 on any other platform and enjoy it the way it was meant to be played. This port is terrible and if it's representitive of what iOS devices are capable of, it should've never happened. Sure, your phone can run a form of BioShock, but only a grossly multilated, distant cousin.
