I think Sanuku made a comparison video between ipad air and iphone 5s in the first pages In my devices the reflections and graphic effects are like in this video
Those customer support replies don't really look promising one of them doesn't even know what he's talking about. How can the same resolution look sharper on a bigger display of ipad if anything the 5s version should look a lot more sharper,it's common knowledge that ipad version should be running at a much higher resolution.I don't know who these guys are but they sure as hell don't know nothing about well anything.
Yeah they don't seem to care at all.. This is what I got back: Hello _________, Thanks for contacting 2K Technical Support! Unless there is an option to change the resolution settings from within the app, unfortunately that is simply the built-in resolution for that particular model. We have logged this report and will forward the feedback to Apple- you may also post your findings on the forums at forums.2k.com. We appreciate the feedback and apologize that we cannot be of more assistance. Best regards, Amber H 2K Support They seem pretty unaware of the issue.
Just finished the game and wow!!! This is a masterpiece. I will be copying over the ipa now to a secure storage device and I won't be giving it up again, ever. Honestly, this game has shown me that iOS gaming has come of age and that gaming can still be fun on mobile. To those who know, what determines the ending that you get? Is it the decision you make while faced with the very first little sister or do subsequent decisions count too? I ask because I rescued the first two little sisters I met but went ahead after that to do the opposite during the course of the game and I can't really term the ending I saw "good" If anybody could elaborate, that would be great. NB: I wish the game had a New Game +
It's obvious that the iPad have more pixel, try close the App in background?come on!I talk today with one of the devs,he says that BIOSHOCK require 1GB of ram to run the game,so,all app closed, notification off..
The endings work like this: Spoiler A: Save *all* little sisters, do not harvest even one. B: Harvest *all* little sisters. C: Harvest one or more little sisters while saving at least one. Ending B is almost the same as ending C. Ending A is pretty different.
Spoiler: Spoiler If you harvest one little sister, but then you rescue all the others, you have the good ending, but if you harvest more than One little sisters, then you had The bad ending. . Was on PS3 inside The DLC "Challenge rooms"The New game + It had The New Game +?
Hey 2K, give us some graphics options or something, man. The unstable framerate makes using a firearm harder than trying to pin the donkey on the tail...with my teeth. (yes I meant to write it that way =D) I would love to dive back into Andrew Ryan's "utopia" after all these years, but after a few tries I have no choice but to abandon the game. It was a good effort, but it's very unplayable at least on my device. (iPhone 5c) As a returning Bioshock vet, I would GLADLY drop the eye candy significantly to achieve at least some sort of smooth framerate. Hell, I'm sure I could adapt to 25 FPS. I understand the graphics have been cut back substantially, but they need to be cut down even more on the phones. As it stands, it's impossible to use touch controls when I'm playing Bioshock: The Slide Show. It's too bad too, cause the port thus far is very faithful to the original in terms of content. Just wish I could actually play it. =\ Nonetheless, the $15 bucks was worth it just to see the Bioshock app icon on my home screen. (I'm a DIEHARD gaming vet, what can I say?)
^This IS the Elephant on the room gents. A graphics option is what we need, you sir are quite an awesome person. BTW: Your Diehardness sounded like me and Wolfenstein or Deus Ex
Found this at 2K's FAQ for Bioshock Mobile: "The game will not support iPhone 4s and below at launch. Likewise, it will not support iPad 3 and below at launch. If you are playing on an iPhone 5, you may encounter some issues like low framerates and hitching. Please note that your device needs 1 GB of RAM in order to play BioShock." Meaning that 512 MB devices MIGHT be supported on an update
That's a great find! Let's hope the "at launch" part means what it so delicately implies. I wouldn't hold my breath on it, though. Remember the first Dumb and Dumber movie when Jim Carey says "So you're saying there's a chance"? Yea. That.
I so hope 2K make the game playable on earlier devices such as iPod 5. I check everyday to see if an update arrives to make this game playable on older devices.
I'm not sure if a graphic option would make any sense in this game. The resolution is already the lowest possible on both iPhones (I've tested it on my iPhone 5 and it looked like 320x480px, which is iPhone 3G resolution) and iPads (tested on iPad Mini 2 and got 1024x768px, which is iPad 2 resolution). The textures, lightning effects and shader effects are already on a minimum I guess. I still have huge framedrops in specific areas especially on iPhone 5 where aiming gets horrible. If you lower the graphics even more...dunno...it would look like a mess and nothing like Bioshock.
Fully agree,at least,on iPad 3,it's a mess just with supported devices that are the only with 1GB of ram..and the game to run Propely need 1GB of ram..
3 weeks ago when I said that it was impossible to run Bioshock on mobile at a decent speed and quality many of us told me that I was crazy and the game was playable on iPhone 4s-5! I said that IMHO maybe was playable on the new iPhone 6! Now we have the demonstration(bad Framerate and quality on iPhone 5 and on my iPhone 5s almost decent Framerate but horrible graphics and effects). iPhone 6 will be the device for Bioshock...maybe !
From a consumer perspective, it might have been a good idea for 2K to put the warnings regarding low framerates and hitching on iPhone 5 in the App Store description. I can see why they did not, however Actually, it seems you migth have been wrong (and probably the victim of a local 5S issue). My iPhone 5S runs it at a splendid and consistent framerate (i.e., there is NO visible lag, slowdowns or sluggishness), at at least than decent quality. (This latter part is, of course, subject to personal interpretation and subjective sentiment. But if we consider pixel-free resolution/no visible spatial aliasing the perfect state, then Bioshock's resolution would probably qualify as at least "decent".)
