So I'm assuming iPad 3 is obsolete, or does it run this game. And I mean RUN the game, I don't care how well it runs.
SteelSeries Stratus Anybody managed to get a SteelSeries Stratus (MFI Bluetooth) controller to work with this game? Mine is working fine with other games but does not seem to work with Bioshock.
Looks awesome, and I loved the game on the 360, but seeing all the nearly unplayable on iPhone 5 posts, is definately gonna make me hold off and wait for the iPhone 6 before picking this one up. Kinda surprised they didn't wait to release this till then anyway...
Just bought and downloaded this but dont have time to play yet. Looking forward to having a great time with this. Oh, and this thread... Fuh-hunny
Ok I bought the game bc bioschock! haha and Yes I did get to manage to play this with the steelseries controller You just have to wait until you get to swim in the beginning before it works. No problems after that. I can confirm it works good enough with the iPhone 5, latest ios 7 but loading times can be a bit long and pixels when there is action... Ipad mini 1 gen is a no go, crashes everytime
iPad 3 running fine, no lagging or crashing. Graphics are more or less the same to the iPhone 5 if not similar.
Sorry but it IS retina. One basic reason is that Apple requires retina since May of last year and any new app or update to an app that does not support is simply rejected, no if's, but's or maybes. Obviously there is a bug that has caused some devices to not be recognised properly by the software and it has defaulted back to non retina. Contacting 2K support would be the solution to this so that they can get a bug fix update out, which I'm sure is being worked on already. It is running at retina, not full res but still retina, on iPad 4. Some of the environmental elements are very low texture but it is still retina. Loading times are very high on this device. On iPhone 5, it almost seems hybridised at times because when it is running retina, it looks amazing and at its best while most other times it seems to be partial retina in that certain elements of the ui and close objects are definitely retina but a lot of the environmental features are not and are more noticeably pixelated because of their low texture. So, obviously enough, after testing it on the range of supported devices (I won't detail the rest, it would be no extra detail), there is obviously enough a bug where the software is not properly recognising the device it is on and it also seems as though there is some form of rendering issue with elements of the environment. So the best thing to do for those with pixelated graphics is simply report it to 2K support. There is a support link in the game. And in reality, I'd imagine a bug fix is not too far away anyway. On that note, the game is still amazing, still looks amazing, still plays amazing even when I experience pixelated elements on the iPhone. On the iPad, it is simply as one would expect, visually amazing and extremely smooth. When it renders retina on my devices, loading times substantially increases but that's perfectly acceptable for what it is. So if you have pixels, let 2K support know and try and be detailed as to where its happening and what device it is because it will help them source whatever is causing it quicker and donate it quicker. But be in doubt, it is retina supported. Apple would not approve it if it were not. No. Put this notion out of your head because it is not going to happen. The game that will be featured at the event will not be a port. It will not be one you have heard about or even seen anything about. It will not be an update to an already released game. It will not be one that has been announced or revelaed anywhere else. Any of those things would defeat the purpose a reveal of the Apple nature. What it will be is one built from the ground up with Swift, that incorporates Metal, exclusive to iOS and is currently tightly under a secrecy wrap. So any of this speculation simply misses the point of what Apple uses these events for and why developers would give their first born child to be the one featured at it.
I can confirm the same. I have it running on iPad 3 and iPhone 5. I feel it looks better on iPad 3 and runs just about as well. No crashes or major hitches, there can be the occasional frame rate dip but nothing hat has bothered my play through. Currently halfway through the Medical Pavillion. Woohoo! The iPad 3 still lives! And for those that asked no jailbreak or other way was used to get it to run on iPad 3. Just download through the App Store and play!
7.1 firmware..., sigh. No thanks. I've learned my lesson about upgrading from my jailbreak. Oh well. Sucks to be me
Since May 1st, 2013, the Apple developer guidelines state that any app that is submitted for approval or updating that does not support the iPhone 5 screen (if it is universal or non iPad) and which does not support retina resolution (along with non retina) will be rejected. This is not speculation, this is a fact that I know to be true and I know very well that they are rejecting apps that do not support retina since then. They will allow downscaling and allow it to run at lower resolution rather than at full resolution but it HAS to support retina. Don't debate me on this one as I know it to be true. Google it or look up the Apple developer guidelines of you require further confirmation. Those Capcom games are either running at a percentage of Retina or have not been updated or released in the time scale I mentioned. I can guarantee you, any app that does not support retina WILL BE REJECTED.
