Oh dear. My apologies for posting my opinion in a PSP 2 thread posted in an iGaming forum Oh and btw, Reality called and reminded me PSP was technically a failure compared to DS. But obviously in the matrix where omegas and hairys live, it was hugely successful coz it had better technical specs compared to the DS!!
The sound and graphic frameworks in PSP development are far superior than the DS stuff, the DS has a touchscreen which distracts you sometimes from the main gameplay and is on some games an unneccesary gimmick, the PSP has a analog nub which is actually usefull (Nintendo saw why analog sticks are extremy important and oh wait... see, in the new 3DS there is a stick surpise surprise!). So why exactly is the PSP a failure?
When has a feature list ever been the deciding factor in what is and isn't a success in the realm of consumer electronics?
Don't change the topic, he called the PSP a technically failure, but it's not, It just don't have a touchscreen, but that is not a failure, it's a difference. And it's not that the PSP sold x * 100.000 and the DS+DSlite y * 1.000.000, they both sold million figures. Despite which sold more, they both can be called a success.
Learn to read. I said its better than DS technically.. And it was a failure compared to DS. So tech specs definitely arent the criteria for a console's success. Which somehow is too difficult for you to understand for some reason.
No prob if you say in your opinion it's a failure and you don't like it, but don't generalize it as a failure, milions of PSPs got sold.
The DS sold more, I know. But how can be 50M sold a failure? http://www.tomsguide.com/us/sony-psp-playstation-portable-ds,news-3484.html And if you look at the PSP games out of their art aspect, you think the critically acclaimed and buyers acclaimed through sales numbers are also failures? So sales not a failure, the art of the games not a failure, 2005 level of the technic not a failure, what's your problem dude?
psp has never been a success, and it will not start now. Quad core Cpu and multi core Gpu on a 5 inch screen totally unnecessary. If this thing is under $400 I would be surprised. Plus no Mario or Zelda = fail for a dedicated handheld console.
iphone 5 and ipad 2 will eat this thing for lunch...most developers are not going to spend the rnd to take advantage of this thing when it's getting trampled by a phone. I'm afraid this might be the last go around for non- multi purposed devices.
No one cares about how many sold. How much money did they make? Plus, the goal is to be the top handheld, but Nintendo won. So Sony lost. So Sony failed. Anyways, I think I'm the only one who secretly loved the PSP Gos design. It just was so cool, anytime someone brought it out, it had a wow factor
lol, you think number one can only be sucess, weak. Certainly Android is number one now in case of market share (Nintendo won at your side means marketshare, right?), but no one here, even me as a iPhone user, wouldn't say Apple doesn't have sucess. So there are other points which define success, relative marketshare spot 1 is not the one and only definition..
IMO real question is if this is as powerful as PS3 then is this mean PS4 is on its way ? This big ****ing step for PSP, i admit it. Now i'm waiting for Apple's move.
Where did I say the only way to have success is to be number one? I said the GOAL to be number one and Sony failed at that particular goal.
I agree?? Where did I say that? Did you know that Sony only expected to sell 8m PSPs this fiscal year?
Everyone knows that the lifespan of the PSP has ended and the PSP2 is rasing, wake up. That point of yours isn't even a point worthy.
Of course the PSP Go will be forgotten when the PSP2 is out, Sony announced you can copy over the downloaded games of the PSP GO (don't forget the licence files). An iUser forgets his old device also when he gives it away/sells after switching to iPhone 4, iTouch 4th gen. So of course every side has that principle of forgetness. What's your point exactly?
No, you said that the PSP has been out to long to sell a ton. You forgot about the recently released PSP Go. Why?
