The visuals do look pretty stunning, even from that blurry pic. Seems like this is definitely a top of the line system (in terms of visuals at the least). However, the U.I and built of the handheld look kinda bad.
This makes the 3DS look like child's play. The tech being displayed here is truly mind-boggling. Seriously. And ain't talking the graphics. It's everything else. Well, perhaps not the design of the system itself. More touch and gyro and they way these things have been implimented. Social connectivity has been heavily emphasized here. The issue of 3g has not been entirely specified. Considering the amount of raw data we're talking about here, I cannot imagine how Sony will avoid taking a complete bath if they give it away for free. It seems instrumental, granted, but I cannot imagine any company could afford to just give 3g away for free on this massive of a scale.
I just watched the uncharted bit on youtube to be honest the stream was poor enough that you can't see what the graphics are like. I do like the design a lot but I think were going to have to hold off a bit on judging graphics at least from what I've seen.
HOLY F***! This will be a much better portable gaming system than the iDevices, it has all the advantages now too, touchscreen, augmented reality, location, social. And the analog stick and buttons will be the pi** for racing games and shooter games. I am so psyched for this With the 3G connectivity, when a provider will release contracts for the PSP2 with data use only, I will ditch my iPhone as a daily lead using device.
I bet the launch price will be insane but I've already decided I want one anyway (although I may wait for the first price drops) I've a feeling this may be my replacement for my ipod as well couple of concerns about it though which I'll have to wait for answers. It better have a decent browser, Netfront on the first PSP was absolutely pathetic and I'm quite a big PSP fan. I'm not paying a contract for 3G it's something I can easily do without . Can't wait until more details start being released though it looks better than I expected but I think we are looking at something that will potentially be priced higher than the PS3 at least at launch.
Looking good Sony, only thing I dont like is the size of the thing, was never a fan of the original PSP size/design. Either way I think I can wait until the systems second gen. version comes out. It'll have better games and be slimmer(probably) Only thing that will make me get a 3DS over this now is Tales of Symphonia portable.

Nope. Even us 'kids' know this looks way better than both the iPhone and ultra low res 3-d gimmic'd graphics of 3DS. Still wont be getting it though. Same reasons as 3DS. Another huge thing to carry with me just to play games. And the fact that games are Not going to be cheap enough.

Richer. Doesnt really mean more fun (which is completely subjective). Not everyone likes deeper, more involving games.
Is this your real opinion or are you just jealous now? If a person hangs too much with the casual style of the most iGames, that creates automatically a such deep hunger for full feature games. I am so ready to get my hunger for that stilled by the PSP2.
I should be jealous? Why? As I already said in the other thread, I got a PS3, got BFBC2, loved it but never got anything else. Not even when I saw good PS3 games on sale for 10 bucks (used copies ofcourse, but that doesnt matter does it). I just dont see myself playing those games. Maybe you (and the likes of Omega-f) are incapable of realizing that not everyone shares the same opinion when it comes to their entertainment sources? I hate RPGs. They are too long, boring and simply said, just not fun (IMO). Does that mean I should consider that whoever says that they like RPGs are lying? Or they like crap games? No. They arent lying nor are those games crap just coz I dont like them. Nor am I lying when I say I hate RPGs or not tempted by these PSP2/3DS games.
But this is a thread about a PSP product. You are coming in this thread and put your opinion in there that you are not going to like it. I don't have nothing against a discussion, but if your only thing you are adding to this thread is your dislike, with no real argument (tech argument can't be there, PSP2 will be superior and will have all tech classes iOS style, location, gyro etc - The big and succesfull casual games will probably all be ported - Sony will add a casual game submarket, the PSP2s touchscreen will push it) I am not sure on which "mission" you are in this thread? I read another movie/DVD forum. If somebody goes in a thread of new movie xyz and just and only says "I don't like it" may put it together with some words that what he is doing is not so obvious, the mods will delete that post, because it is considered to make a bunk in that thread to post only "I don't like", it's only aim is to insult in a way the people who are coming together in that thread to share there interest in that topic. They will delete that post because it is considered trolling.
Did they say how much memory the NGP is going to have? The only mention I can find of anything close to that is related to the cards. (From Siliconera) I'm wondering how many games you can store on the built-in memory of the device. The above quote doesn't really help much, but I couldn't find anything else.
I'd be down with buying this over the 3DS, if it was under $300. Anything over $300-350 is pretty risky and it may flop even if it has all these amazing specs. Sony says they're working on the ability to play a game on the PS3 and continue playing that PS3 game later on the NGP. Pretty badass. Uncharted looks amazing, and I can't wait to see how LittleBigPlanet looks. Really? Man that sounds awesome. Maybe we'll finally get GTA San Andreas Stories.
