It will most likely be more than $200, lol. And sure, you can buy a 360 instead, but the PSP2 is obviously a PORTABLE device.

Yeah, but I got my iPod. And I am never somewhere long enough where I get bored on my iPod and need to play a console-esk game. Which means, only time I want a console-esk game is at home, where my 360 would be
"uuuuuggghhhhh I dont want my graphics on my handheld to even come close to my console dammit! It was a dream back in the day but now it just renders home consoles useless.. I never play my PSP because all the amazing games for it are all story driven games that must be played when you have plenty of time to play, something you need to stay at home for, which is what a console is for. Games like pokemon and animal crossing and metal gear acid are the games and graphics that should be made for handhelds because they are easy to play on the go. Why would I want to take Crisis Core with me out and about when I have 5 mins intervals to play it? "
Thank you AllstarAugustine for putting it much better then I did.*

$200 or less is absolutely impossible. This thing will be $300 minimum (probably it will cost $350)

I'm not a big psp fan but this actually doesn't look half bad.

I don't know...the 3DS has captured a majority of the handheld market in terms of the next gen sales. the PSP2 is just sort of coming out of nowhere. Knowing Sony, they WILL price the psp2 more than the 3DS and ipod because I guess bigger is better right? Bigger number, the more you're getting for it?

And is that another mock up of what the psp2 will look like? Or is that an actual prototype this time around?

Actually i did a quick google search and the latest article said the psp2 will be another brick type shape similar to the first device so the mock up is pretty far off.

Have fun playing your Xbox 360 at the airport.
;) I'm just joking. But if the PSP2 can deliver PS3ish quality graphics with a 5 hour battery and dual joysticks, it's a win in my book. I've paid 300 bucks for an iPod and the 3DS isn't really cheap either, so Sony doesn't have to keep it super cheap.

What Sony needs to do for the PSP2 to be a win is have it playing Uncharted or an Uncharted 2 port when it's unveiled. Imagine how crazy the media would get.

Kinda on/off topic, but I believe next gen consoles will be portable. Take your psp with you on vacation, then hook it to your TV with a HDMI jack, sync your Bluetooth Dualshock Controller to it and enjoy. That's the future of gaming, unless VR becomes a reality soon.

Finally. Been waiting for the details on this for awhile, the 3DS isn't really doing anything for me.

As far as iPod vs PSP goes, they both serve diff. purposes for me. One doesn't replace the other.

The one I use just depends on what type of gaming I wanna get done.

No way. That is ugly as hell. And it's not very practical. Can you even imagine playing that thing. PSP go was criticized as being annoying to control. I hope Sony learned something from this.

Sony will have to include a lot of features in it to draw away the hype from the 3DS at least. And have some great games as launch (I agree about the Uncharted series port haha. That would be awesome)

Amen to that. Can you imagine NHL 11 on a portable device with ps3 graphics??!! I'd be in heaven, haha.

I heard it will connect somehow to the ps3 or psn, can anyone confirm?

Well the normal psp can hook up to the PS3 and PSN now, so I'd assume they won't remove that feature. I just hope the PSP2 can play my PS3 PSN games.

    The real one is uglier.
It was a stupid argument considering how badly placed the analog nub was on the regular PSP, the Go made it far easier to use without resorting to arthritis-inducing claw shapes. You can hold the device fairly naturally with your thumb directly on it, no finger contortions necessary.

Yeah the Non-PSPgo controls hurt. Playing any game with any kind of action required you to hold hand positions like a fekkin retard.

Hmm.. If it's a good price with decent specs, it may get my attention. Add a phone and you lose my attention.

But honestly, the first PSP was good enough for an in-depth GTA which entertained me for months. So what good will updating it be, unless it's on a more-or-less par with PS3 (which is unlikely)?

Just keep the original and bring out more, good games.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the PSP2 did have PS3 graphics. They've been hiding in the shadows pretty well and I'd expect them to bring out something amazing in a few more weeks.
